| I don't really care for the anti-climatic fights even if the death blow in the Julian fight looked like it suddenly cut the fight short halfway in and I care even less for Hakunon, my biggest issue is honestly how Hakuno's character was handled in the end. The idea of Hakuno here being a personification of malignant information is pretty nice, but his whole hatred shtick being resolved like this makes me feel no impact since we've never actually seen real, impactful examples of him being too deviating in his behaviour or overwhelming in the whole hatred thing since we've only seen him say ''I feel hateful'' non-chalantly here and there without him actually acting out on his hateful state. It was building up to his berserk-like breakdown with the first two episodes, but then more or less just pulled out of it afterwards only leaving it as a backbone to his character. I'm incredibly disappointed by what LE turned out to be. It had a lot of potential and excitement going for it, but it turned out to be my least favorite Fate/ work to date. |
| LE's biggest problem has definitely been anticlimax, both fight scene wise and narrative wise. The mystery of "Deadface" Hakuno was something many people figured out several weeks before the reveal, and as you've said, it resolves itself very quickly. The Rin Lancer reveal just randomly comes at the end of tbe Alice Arc, the Gae Bolg doesn't even work as intended, and no real fanfare is given to it. The mystery of why the Chakravartin takeover occured was answered last episode almost off-handedly, with Twice saying he just realized forcing his dream on humanity wouldn't work so he just decided to say "fuck it" And so on, and so forth. The anime promised grand mysteries, but the answers were always rather simple and lacked any sense of gravitas. At this point, the only thing I'm really looking forward to is what the deal is with Amari, and even then, her character so far has just been kind of lame. |

| I kind of stopped caring about Amari the moment it became obvious all the theories about her role and identity are not gonna happen and that she really is a new character introduced to the cast. I mean that's fine and all, but there's not really much you could do to make me care for a completely new character in what little time the show has remaining. I just hope that LE underselling so much won't cause companies in question to get disinterested in pursuing further Fate/ adaptions of the Extraverse. I've given up on CCC getting an adaption, but I'd like to at least get Fox Tail. |

| Unless they copy Extella and make it a NG+ route where Hakuno actually wins because of knowledge that HAKUNO gives her, I still don't see much of a point to it. If they wanted to do the original Extra, they should have done that first instead of making a badly paced mystery drama that alienated its non-Extra audience. I just want my damn CCC adaptation already. And that hope is slowly fading away. |

| Yeah, something exactly like Extella is what I had in mind. An early timeline where the main characters know very little before the table is turned and the driving force moves from the plot to the characters with all the mysteries revealed and all that remains is the character action. |
| Okay I am incredibly late to the party but I'll just throw my 2 cents here. Finally got the boys over to marathon eps 1 to 8. Raw fresh emotions below. WHAT THE FUCK. What the hell happened!? I am legit very upset with what Last Encore has become. Was it that hard to stick to the original source? Whoever that guy was on the HF project team that wanted Nasu to have very little creative input on the movie and to keep it as faithful as possible deserves an award and raise. Nasu what have you done. Christ. Music, Ending song and Animation is amazing though. Honestly can't find myself motivated anymore to watch the remaining unair eps. Edit: Okay, had some time to process a few things and dug around for info to satiate my many questions. I'll still watch more but still overall very underwhelmed. |

| It's probably just me but the episode was only underwhelming at the fights. Besides that I don't really see what's wrong with Hakunon talking about Nero instead of herself. And that chat Hakuno and Nero had was pretty good imho. It kinda needed more emotion coming from Hakuno but it was okay. I guess I wasn't expecting a huge flashback about Hakunon. And tbh seen Hakunon talking with Nero in their room about her past felt special. Like I was playing Extra again. But that's just me.. Let's see how they deal the cocky kid and the sun guy. |
| @Veromaye This is why the Hakunon bit felt so underwhelming to me, quoted from my BL post: I disagreed with the people who hated Extella/Zero due to Hakunon's role being relegated to a clone of Hakuno, on the grounds that she gets to affect him in a very meaningful way when her identity is revealed to him and when they face each other and she gets a badass last stand. In Extella/Zero, you can't substitute her role with anyone else directly thanks to her being a clone of him. In LE, Hakunon's bit didn't need her in particular. There's nothing in this episode that couldn't have been done without her presence, which is the problem IMO. We didn't need Hakunon to narrate Nero's backstory or what happened in the last war, as that could've been Nero herself in a dream. Hakunon doesn't have her own character arc in LE beyond the general knowledge of being Nero's former Master which could've been any character and it wouldn't have mattered since Hakuno isn't Hakunon's incarnation in the first place and he could've taken her visage or any of the fallen Masters regardless. |

| LE Nero is cute, but I felt the flashback and characterization bit for her this episode was far too short and basically just skimmed over her character and background. So I'd say as far she's handled, it's been sort of a let down as well. I had hoped we'd go more into her skirmish with her mother, too. But that's not the issue. Last Encore was doomed to fail the moment it got announced it was a single cour. Literally nothing you could do within that timeslot with the given scenario except rush and give unsatisfying resolutions like these. |
| It pains me a little that this is Nero's real introduction (in her element and story) to the casual audience and while she leaves a good thot impression she doesn't get to truly develop properly and shine as intended because this is Fate Extra 2.0. Hell not just Nero but every other Masters+Servants and their relationship. |

| Both of those things would benefit LE, so are you suggesting they'll try to salvage it by adding more visual appeal to it and a whole another cour to at least properly handle Leo, Gawain, Twice and Amari's (assuming the thing in Nursery Rhyme's floor wasn't the conclusion to her character) characters? That's optimistic, but it's already confirmed to have only 3 more episodes, sorry. |

| From the beginning and till the end, I still have no idea what Last Encore is trying to do. What's the point of changing everything? They shot themselves in the foot by diverting from the original story, now we won't have CCC,Extella or anymore anime in Extra universe because it start with this crap. |
