@Shymander

Oh, don't worry I applied for Manga DB mod. However for some reason, Kineta doesn't like me either so there is that.

My idea for support mods are as follows:

- A special moderator team for Suggestion / Support board.

- There will be direct communication between them and admins so if a problem arises, they will be the first to know. That way they can inform the community when needed.

- Let's be honest. All of the suggestions on the suggestion board are ignored. When I say these people think I am blaming mod team however that is not the case. I know that they can't do much either. However with the help of support mods they can make a monthly list of suggestions that are worth considering then talk about them with staff.

There are a lot more however that is the summary.

As for the event mods I agree most of it. However, we don't have to make big scaled events all the time. Basic competitions or contests do just fine. For example Best "X" of the season/year contest from r/anime. I think this kind of small events could help the community without overworking other mods.

I don't really think that i have anything to say, honestly. But,
For me, i just thought that both sites AL and MAL has their own charm, obviously. Just choose wherever you're comfortable with, don't compare it like that because even both site is a db type of site but it is actually different. As example, AL's interface is more modern, MAL's is more dated. This is not a total disadvantage for MAL since some people would definitely liked this more than the AL modern interfaces. Like me, personally. I liked the dated interface more (though i must admit the non-real time notification kinda annoying). Why is that? because it's easier to load and it's very light to see with my eyes.

Basically, im saying that every site has their own charm that could be a reason that this site does not "improve" like you expect to (until the right time is coming) and every people has their own rights and reasons to choose or not choose this site. So stop comparing like this site is completely useless, please.

How about... umm you know.. giving the choice of using the old or new design for MAL? They are not updating old one so I can't see the downside of it.

Question to everyone who sees the merit in adding upvotes/downvotes: What exactly does it have to offer other than just suppressing "controversial" opinions and hiding them? You realize that it will only make your site a larger hugbox than it could be?

Yeah, that's a good idea. And actually you can change the theme with something like userstyle.org (or whatever it is callled), isn't it?

If the problem lies in downvotes, it's about as easy as adding only upvotes. Many forums have a like system that is not necessarily the Reddit one.

Anime/Manga DB certainly need help, so for those of you keen to help out/have the experience and skills necessary, be sure to check this out. Actions speak louder than words.
These days it takes ages for submissions to be accepted.

I myself wouldn't mind being Anime DB mod, since I'm again very active at editing and adding stuff, and also wish more people were recruited.

MAL just can't allow itself anymore to depend on people (not all, of course) who only do their mod duties only when they feel like it.

I remember there being one moderator, I believe it was kuroshiroi, who was insanely active; I would like sometimes add 30 or so characters in a day, and they would be accepted almost immediately.

Pretty much lol
DeNA isn't doing anything anymore and they're actively screwing us over, so I'd rather just have nobody run as at this point XD
