| Naru's dad is sweet.. ;P We don't see mother anywhere, by the way - are they divorced or something?.. Oh, we actually see Naru's mother.. At 17:07.. lol.. ;D They really wanted to censor her face for some reason.. Overall, anime was great, I love it.. It is both enjoyable cute slice of life.. With the events hanging around yosakoi, which is a new topic for me personally in anime.. As well as anime had lots and lots of drama.. All girls got their own share of things they had to deal with, and all of main girls were relatable in what they were thinking and feeling.. Anime is both great in its' characters as well as the yosakoi it revolved around.. Enjoyed this anime a lot.. ;P |
| OH MY GOSH AAAAA what a perfect episode. everything about it was amazing, they finally danced properly! i sorta expected something cliche would happen but i dont care it was amazing and it made me tear up. i wish they animated more of their performance as a group instead of focusing on individual performances. also wish we could get closure to some of the plot points, like Naru's trauma what happened to that lol it's like they forgot about it, same with Tami's dad. but still amazing amazing peak peak. never expected to love this show so much! i was dreading a timeskip or something where they meet Hana at the end like Sakamichi but im so glad that didnt happen. this was the perfect conclusion to the show and didnt disappoint at all. i was hopping between an 8 and 9 during the show but this is definitely a 9, maybe even a 10 though i would settle with a 9 for now. i know a s2 isnt possible anymore but this was a great show and im glad i got to watch it! will write a review later. Tami has to be one of my favourite fictional characters recently btw the OP is amazing i love how they integrated it into the show. PAATO PAATO |
| Very good finale, and I admit I got a little misty-eyed when Hana made it on stage and the girls got their dance on. The rest of the show was disappointing. 3 main problems: 1) Very little yosakoi. Not being invested in Japanese culture, I had no clue what it was about, and it took 3 whole episodes to actually introduce it. Then they only drip feed a few bits every now and then (pretty much just the 2 competitions where anything was shown). This wouldn't have been too much of a problem if the characters were stronger, but... 2) The characters were wholly uninteresting - not a single memorable trait about them other than their respective tropes. Which led to... 3) Bland, forced drama. Naru was too whiny, Yaya starts out with some needless Munchausen Syndrome, Tami's so-called dilemma was barely an inconvenience, Machi's sister hatred was plain dumb, and with Hana's outspoken nature, it seemed illogical that she wouldn't at least advocate to stay for the festival and leave later with her dad. They should've done like a musical fusion thing with Yaya's band and focused more on the flashy yosakoi, something like a mix of K-ON and Action Heroine Cheer Fruits. 6.5 hanayakunamatatas /10 |
