Besides the first three anime's I watched, I have only been watching for about a year. The most I have went without watching a episode was about three days.
At home for the most part I do fill lazy and all I want to do is lurk around Mal or web.

Happened to me once, but it was not because I grew tired of anime but because I had to finish a series I found mediocre and didn't like which was Kaze No Stigma.

Gah, just remembering it gives me the creeps, what a bad anime. But since I had watched half of it I thought "well, might as well finish this crap".

You can't tired of anime. It's like being tired of watching TV. Maybe you are tired of one aspect of anime that is only present in a specific category? e.g. Shounen anime tend to focus on a lot of fights and character 'level ups'. Find a different category! Or watch a classic or watch Seinen action. Anime isn't something you get tired of. Unless you get tired of 2D animation. If that's the case, try real tv series and let it remind you why you like anime in the first place .

omg story of my life.

Ever since i discovered japanese/korean dramas my interest in anime is really diminishing. Manga is okay, but getting myself to watch anime is such a struggle now.

Yeah it happened to me where i stopped watching for a couple of months, but it wasn't something i thought was permanent, i knew i would get back to it though. You know once One Piece, Naruto and Bleach finish i might stop watching anime as regularly as i do. I have cut down somewhat.

The peak of my anime watching was the summer before this last one. I haven't been watching a whole lot since then. I've logged 10 days in Monster Hunter Tri in the past couple months while I've logged only about 18 days of anime in over a year. It's gotten to the point where I regularly forget anime exists as something to entertain me (even though I'm regularly on this site). Some weeks I don't watch any anime, and others, like last week, I watch something like 30-40 episodes.

yea, like everyone else has already said, just fool with something else. you could also take an extended break from it and maybe pick up a couple different manga to read or maybe a game. once you come back to anime, you'll get hooked on it for a while again ^_^

that's what i have to do, at least.

EDIT: also, you could pick up a new genre of anime that you haven't dabbled in up to this point, like i did.

Don't have this kind of problems ^^ Fortunately ^^ But it's not hard to not get tired of it, when you watch it like from time to time, not as a daily routine.

Right now I can't find what I really want to watch. I seem to be just waiting for a few updates of certain anime / manga, and not doing much other reading / watching.

Most likely in a little while I'll be back to normal and start finish off all the stuff I have stopped watching / reading, and begin new series.

It's kind of happened to me right now.

I watched a ton of anime over summer vacation, and kind of feel burned out now. I'm trying to force myself to watch more Elfen Lied (not that I don't like it, just don't feel like watching it) before school officially starts again for me in a few days. I'm somehow still managing to keep up with the airing shows, though.

I'm kinda like what some people have already said. Instead of having some manga with my anime, I have some anime with my manga. And when I say "some anime," I mean like a series every 5-10 months. Nowadays, I zone out too easily when I watch anime, I get less involved the more series I watch consecutively. /frowny face

This happens to me also, I tend to read manga when I get tired of anime, and vice versa.

I also, think that lowering the amount of series that I'm watching is also helpful.

Happened a few weeks ago. I was just reading manga. Then for some reason I wanted to read the manga Major, but most of it wasn't translated because the anime apparently were coming about at that time so the translators thought it was just a waste of time.
So I decided to watch that instead and see what I though of it even though I wasn't interested in anime at that point.

Watched it and completed season 1-5 and 19 episodes of season 6 in 3 days. Now I'm cured and watching anime as usual again xD

It happened to me too, 3 years ago, when I was not-exactly-fun-but-I-liked-to-watch the Kim (Possible)-(Teen) Titans curse and this was my senior year, which made me to study a lot, I was about to quit the anime business, but I tried to watch Bleach for try to stay, but in no success.
Until, my little brother decided to rewtach Yugioh! Duel Monsters and I joined. Since then, I decided to watch in Japanese (He watched in English) and since then... I brought back to life, for what it called...

And that's it. Na-no-ne/De-aru/Relo XD

Yes, it happend from time to time to me, but it's not a bad thing, isn't it? There are many other things you can do...
I find it rather strange if you never get tired of anime and watch day after day several hours of anime (in extreme cases).
Anime is just entertainment and if you don't like it at the moment just do anything else. Don't force yourself to watch it. There'll come a time when you'll like watching anime again (or else you found another great hobby).

It happens to me now and again. I generally get over it quicker and don't mind it as long as I go by this one rule.
  • Don't watch any new anime you haven't seen before while in a slump, you will regret it, because you won't enjoy it even if it is an awesome series.
It's truly horrible when it happens and i'm in the middle of an anime, I generally finish the series but feel kinda dissatisfied.

When I got tired of anime the first time, I saw a series called Kemonozume and it renewed my interest and made me realise anime still had hope.

When I got tired of anime the second time, I saw an old OAV called Gunbuster and it blew my mind and moved me to the point that I thought perhaps anime could be timeless after all.

I'm tired of anime a third time, but I haven't seen anything yet that has made me fall in love with watching stuff again. Mostly because what I watch is mainstream junk-- perhaps I should stick to those gems I used to when I was younger.

I go through phases where I do and I don't. Im not a hard core anime fan by any means, but I am into it enough to know more than just mainstream stuff.

I think a huge problem with anime is that sometimes it's hard to find series that fully resonate with a western audience. A lot of anime has an immaturity about it; the focus on school children, the slapstick humor, the constant yelling, the cheesy dialogue , etc.

I think what it comes down to is not overdoing it. Sometimes watching a shit ton of anime makes you feel like every show in a specific genre is the same. Pace yourself a bit and anime feels no different than catching that new episode of House every week.

I don't watch movies or TV really, so anime is it. But I go through phases. I may find a PC game I really get into, and thus not watch anime for 2 weeks. Or I may go through an anime phase, and not touch my gaming rig at all.

So i took a 3 month break.

I haven't been able to enjoy anime for a good year and a half now. Something about it just puts me off a bit. Maybe it's the Japanese voices, or maybe it's the art style. I'm not sure. Whatever it is, anime used to be pretty fun to watch and it would be nice to enjoy it again. Anytime I watch anime I go into critic mode and tear everything apart.

I'll finish up a couple series yet and maybe go on an anime hiatus. Forcing myself to watch does no good.

I've tried to take a break from watching anime and reading manga... but it didn't last more than a few days, I get sad... really... sometimes the excitement to see another ep of whatever series is what keeps me through the day ... It's like when you watch so many porn, real sex doesn't excite you anymore... That's anime and real life for me. Whatever... it seems to be working so far.

I am not getting tired of anime. However, I'm sad to say my mental state is going too sour to properly enjoy anime right now.

When I return, I expect to get swept up in the Occidental serenity of shows such as "Gosick", and the 3 Anne of Green Gables pieces. And perhaps read Vinland Saga. A great tale of Nordic men.

Old avatar and sig retired for now.
