True ending explained

so first of all there's an important detail that no one has mentioned here which is that the person albert is talking to in the church is one of the two subordinates of nowak(blonde one) who is talking about how he did nothing to save the person who freed jolenta. so it confirms it's a canon universe.

so i think the letter that reached potocki is real and just a way to show that drakas mission was successful. all it was trying to show was that it played a part in inspiring him to write his book about the planets that's mentioned in the credits.

there is probably some other explanation for rafal-sensei.

I think it was possibly a fanatic imitator who saw rafal.
while rafal was executed as a kid he had a whole trial in the church that many people attended and many people saw his face . A little kid ripping up his paper and renouncing the church without any hesitation and ripping the paper too on top of that? Im sure that must have affected the people in the crowd in some way or the other. so this person could possibly be something like that. while this person looked like rafal he was more social community based and political in nature and well the whole murder and the reasoning behind it. It's almost like he is a devout of rafal. It's a stretch tho definitely.

@Ayon_Larune You seemed to have misunderstood what I meant. What I wanted to say is, as long as you remember the characters and the impact it had on you, it does not matter what is fake or not. You have to find your own truth within all this since things are not explicitly explained and spoon fed to you in anime. Saying it is fake is kind of a sad approach you have chosen. It makes you a person who just negatively looks at everything and not learn or appreciate anything it offered you. But if it is your truth then so be it. My POV is that none of it is fake, and I agree with OP that the story is interconnected in such a way that one "story" affected the other, everything had a memorable meaning. I don't feel scammed, in fact I feel really happy to have experienced such an anime that dares to be philosophical.
