| I always try to be polite and respectful in conversation by default until someone makes it clear that they don't deserve that kind of respect since they don't give it to others either. Respect always needs to be a mutual thing and I'm not gonna be all nice and fluffy when someone is being an aggressive asshole, shitposting troll or any other kind of piece of disrespectful shit. I prefer to operate on politeness and respect, but I can match anyone's level of aggression if they make me. They should know how it feels to be on the receiving end too. Never cater to assholes, never make them feel comfortable because they'll keep being assholes as long as people let them get away with it. I don't consider it toxic tho when you're just reacting to the toxicity of others. Toxicity is when that kind of behaviour comes without being warranted at all, out of nowhere, or is the default way someone operates in conversation. If there's a good reason to dislike a person because of their toxicity, it's just natural to not be nice to them in response. I'd even go as far as to say not calling them out and fighting back against their toxicity means you're also a small part of the problem of toxicity spreading through the community. |

i used to get offended easily by eShade thrown my way back in the day, but these days i'm far more streetwise. i just try to cherish my waifu and favorite girls in general, appreciate my favorite Mecha, and treasure my favorite Anime series, as i've seen plenty so far, and most tend to end up leaving me rather sorely disappointed... |
