| I’ve now arrived at my rewatch of Season 2 of Golden Kamuy, and like the first season, I haven’t seen any of this since I first watched it in the season it aired in, being Fall 2018, which was actually the first time I picked more than a handful of shows for a season, it was 9 shows total I believe, not as many as I watch nowadays but close lol. And in regards to this season of the series in particular, I remember it being one of my favorites (I say that like I don’t love all of Golden Kamuy lol), with a 10/10 rating from me, so we’ll see if I feel that way about it once again, I think I will because it’s gonna have nostalgia enhancing the experience as well. And this first episode is such a wild one to start off with, this Edogai character might be even crazier than the serial killer from Season 1, but his excessive eccentricities are as entertaining as they are insane, the fashion show with Tsurumi was great lol. But unfortunately for the 7th, without Tsurumi around, Edogai is uncontrollable, I really feel for Tsukishima and the soldier he’s with here since they were left alone with this guy lol, but if their plan to make fake skins succeeds, it’ll really mess with the race for the gold, I can’t remember exactly how it goes so I’m interested in seeing how it plays out again. We also got some big reveals on Asirpa’s dad, being that he’s actually a Russian pretending to be an Ainu, and that the friends he clued in about the gold would likely be the same, meaning suspicions are raised on Kiroranke. Also, Tanigaki is heading to Sugimoto’s group to warn them of a traitor, so yeah there’s a lot to be excited about here at the start of Season 2, the race for the gold is just getting started! And man that OP is such a nostalgia blast much like the one from Season 1, I prefer the original of course but that doesn’t mean this one isn’t phenomenal, such a good song, much like the ED which is a really good follow-up to the first one (I know it didn’t appear in this episode btw, just mentioning it already because it’s a rewatch lol). |
