They will do it in Season 3 if it's 25 episodes though. |

| Seriously WTF. Don't get me wrong, I'm more than happy to be getting more episodes of AOT. I'll devour each one of them. BUT what bothers me the most is that Clash of the Titans and Uprising SHOULD GO TOGETHER. They don't work well separately, especially Uprising! |

| Welp, I guess that's that. I agree that it's pretty nuts given that it's taken 4 years for it come back, that they're only back for 12-13. Though the production values are pretty amazing. Hopefully they announce an actual date for season 3 after the last episode this time like some shows do, and don't leave us hanging again wondering how long the wait will be. I think that's pretty fair Septette, there are plenty of good shows being made but yeah there was something special about the everything is at least 2 cour shows days, it gave many shows more time to dig into the stories or characters and build out the bigger plotlines. Even shows that air by 13 episode seasons now sometimes, particularly on the lesser skillfully executed ones, you can still feel the difference compared to the old way where they were built from the ground up for 22-26 eps/season, though some of course do the multiple 12-13 ep seasons thing better than others. And of course this is more felt with the ambitious shows or ambitious anime originals. For example I think having a full 22 also contributed to how much better the first season of Psycho-Pass was than the short second (in addition to the writer change, since the main writer and director went straight to working on the movie). Some themes just work best in the "slow burn" letting everything sink in. Outside of Gundam which still thankfully gets them (though often 2 cour at a time), I actually also miss the rare occasional 50 ep "event" like Eureka 7 or Fullmetal. LOL yeah. |
| Personally I think due to how people say the manga is structured, 12 episodes is the better idea because of how things are likely going to end. Sure, it sucks, but I feel worse for Blue Exorcist Fans who got 12 episodes also in Season 2, but 5 years later, while we had 4 years in comparison. Likelihood is the next season(s) of AoT will come much quicker than the 4 year wait. Whether that's 1 year, 2 years or 3, oh well. |
