| i think i have a feeling as to why characters are surviving outrageous circumstances, probably to lull us into a false sense of security but pell surviving and finding his own grave is interesting |
| man the fakeout deaths are really starting to get annoying. The eagle guy went out on top so good. Why do that? I feel like the whole emotion of that scene was worthless. But the Nico part of the episode was great. Still wish they didn’t show the intro would have hit a lot more. I laughed so hard when they first saw her and Usopp had the megaphone and was yelling intruder. And how she got everyone on her side (except Zoro, he knows better). It will be interesting to see how the crew goes with 7 now and what type of history she looking for. |
| OK I'll admit Pell surviving the explosion from my point of view now doesn't make a lick sense but it wasn't like they did this multiple times in the arc but it is jarring to go from a powerful sacrifice and then have Pell stand by a grave to be a cheap way to keep the character alive. Anyways moving past that on the other hand is Nico Robin officially joining the Straw Hats. And I gotta say it was pretty funny to see Ussopp just interrogate her and she just remains cool as a cucumber. Zorro was just pissed off at her. XD He didn't want anything to do with her at all, it looked like Nami was going to be aggressive with her but she was easily persuaded by the jewels she had. It does make you think,is Nico Robin generally interested in being a crew member or just has ulterior motives? She's definitely unpredictable and the new dynamic she brings certainly opens for further development in my opinion. The episode is abit hollow because of the stuff with Pell but otherwise it was a fairly decent episode overall. |
| Although not as good as the last couple episodes, this was a solid ep. That is, of course, ignoring the fact that Pell apparently survived a bomb that could kill anyone in a 5km radius that exploded while he was literally holding it. Well, I guess now I know better than to expect any real death in the next few hundreds of episodes, if Oda can't even kill a side character that had a big death buildup and multiple scenes showing respect to him after he "died". |
