shambles of awards honestly, Vinland saga definitely deserved better. even chainsaw man was more deserving.

demon slayer didn't deserve any nomination except for best cinematography and song (kizuna no Kiseki wasn't even nominated lol)

Crunchyroll awards are only for animes on Crunchyroll, that's it. heavenly delusions should've won at least on 1 category.

I feel like the hidden inventory definitely had some of the moments (REALLY GOOD ONES)

but still 5 eps is not enough to just hand over the "AOTY" award

was really hoping for vinland but I guess it's good for the animators, their suffering has paid

Edit: I had the same concerns about how it should’ve been only Hidden Inventory/Premature Death nominated for AOTY, but based on the eligibility requirements, it looks like it also included Shibuya Arc?

“Unless stated otherwise, nominees must be, or be associated with, an anime that meets all of the following requirements:

a) Is considered an animated series.

b) Primary production occurred in Japan.

c) One episode aired on television or online in Japan between October 2022 and September 2023, at least in part.

But if Shibuya Arc gets nominated again for next year, I will be livid. And I swear during voting, it was just Hidden Inventory/Premature Death that was nominated for AOTY. Wish I could see the ballot again.

JJK, KnY and CSM shouldn't even have been nominated for AotY. There were better shows. Overall most JJK wins were jokes.

Vinland Saga definitely deserved the award and its not mot even close. JJKs production unironically carried it through but if you cared about any sort of narrative/character aspects Vinland wins by a landslide.

Reminder that the nominations for these meme awards are picked by literal Kotaku journalists who know nothing about anime except what they see on >r/anime about the new big seasonals, and then they're voted on by people with the IQ of a Gigguck fan. But a JJK sweep was still lowkey based and funny to watch because it still could've been much worse--especially looking at the other AOTY nominees.

Glad CSM won almost nothing despite the frauds at CR shilling it relentlessly for the past 2 years. Ch**ns*w M*n will ALWAYS live in JJK's shadow LOL. Also, >One Piece.

CSM and JJK shouldn't have been there because of the production issues, because we had countless other shows without those issues, e.g. Tengoku Daimakyou.
And KnY was weak story-wise.

CSM, JJK and KnY were nowhere near close to the other 3 shows quality-wise.

@hi777 Yeah, the bigger fandom the more votes certain show gets. We can only complain about that, doubt awards ceremonies will be changed in the future, especially if it's crunchyroll. Nominations on the other hand don't depend on popularity/votes. They robbed Bleach
