The recent few episodes were pretty dull for me... I liked this part in the manga but I feel the adaptation didn't execute it well, it feels really slow-paced.
I thought the first part was significant but this part... idk... what do you think?

I agree, it feels pretty slow and dull like you said, hoping it picks up soon
Some things can only be achieved through animation.

Agreed. The first few with Bond were great, but the last couple have been a bit eh. For example I think two episodes ago we spent half the time on Franky's love life... (I'm sorry Franky but I don't care haha)

It's exactly the same as part 1, it's just adapting the more comedy focused chapters right now.

Yeah. I think this show is trying way too hard to be a slice of life anime, so it almost completely misses the balance of being that and a shounen. Nothing about the stakes of the plot feel urgent at all, despite the fact that it should be.

In my opinion, it's because of repetitive jokes and the lack of new character interactions. This is something all comedy shows have to deal with. The characters now are exactly the same as they were when we were first introduced to them. This means that the jokes of these characters are running old fast. We already knew Yor is a bad cook. We didn't need an entire episode for that. Similarly in the last episode we kept on seeing Anya make the same shocked facial expression again and again. It's just not funny anymore. The author needs to come up with new jokes or with new characters to keep things fresh.

The next episode seems more promising as it's about Yuri and Anya's interaction. It's gonna be a fresh character interaction and will most probably be better than these previous two episodes. Let's hope they introduce that Silver hair lady in the ending theme soon as this show is in dire need of some new characters.

I really liked first part. But I'm not feeling like watching Spy x family anymore. I've only watched the first ep the day it came out. But idk why my excitement has died for it for no reason. I wanna complete it. But I'm not feeling like it.

Unfortunately for you, the manga (which it is slowly adapting) is primarily a slice of life series, with action scenes from time to time. Although, I have only read up until the start of the
so maybe they introduce some stakes into the story later on.

Most action scenes devolve into the main trio splitting up. Loid gets contacted that a criminal is threatening the peace. Anya gets lost and tries to solve the situation while imagining she's in one of her spy tv shows. Yor gets worried because she lost the others and ends up one-hitting some of the villains on the way to find everyone else. Then they meet up and the manga continues being a slice of life manga until the next conflict appears out of thin air.

I haven't caught up mostly because I'm not that invested in the plot anymore, but it's still an enjoyable read so I'll catch up eventually.

Believe it or not its a pretty faithful adaptation. This is what majority of the story is like in manga aside from one action packed arc with happens a bit later, most of the story is anya in school with occasional appearances from loid and yor.

I know that but in the manga, I can control the pacing by myself, The anime feels really slow. that's what I'm saying

Shounen is a demographic. Not a genre. There are many shounen manga/anime without action.

Geag always annoying seeing smooth brains who think Shonen means combat. Shonen has absolutely nothing to do with fighting. Shonen is literally an age demographic for magazine targeting.

I mean its almost like these people dont know JoJo moved to a Seinen magazine despite being the very identity and definition of Shonen. JoJo powers invented the genre as we know it today. except, JoJo isnt Shonen, its Seinen now because the kids who used to read Shonen became adults LOL

The best evidence is the fact it wasnt just JoJo that moved to Jump Ultra. It was also Ninku, narutos basis, which when 2nd stage came out (which was tonally the same as the last) was moved. Ninku and JoJo are arbitrarily Seinen.

Dragonball, One Piece and Naruto never went Seinen. They continually targetted a young demographic. DragonballZ literally was aimed at the same audience as Dragonball, and Boruto is less a continuation of Naruto and a rewrite for a younger, newer generation. Wano was a hard reset for kids to get into One Piece.

These terms are arbitrary.

Is the show going to remember that Yor is supposed to be an assassin any time soon? That "twist" scene about her returning after a cooking lesson (which was incredibly obvious) felt like a spit in a face ("Hey, remember that she's an assassin? Yeah we've also completely forgotten about that!")

There will be an entire arc dedicated for Yor's work but it probably wouldn't be covered in this season, next season maybe.

Yeah the show really baits you with the opening few episodes + Bond's introduction being a 10/10 kick-ass groovy spy thriller only for the majority of the episodes to be slice-of-life comedy.

The show is enjoyable for what it is, but moments like Loid proposing to Yor with a grenade pin are glimpses of a story that could've been so much better.

I feel like in these last two episodes the case was just that the content from the manga didn't translate that well into the anime format, which is okay really, it happens. But i'm sure that the show will pick itself up just fine :)

You can always rewatch it later and notice that the comedy was never good until the last two episodes of the first part, it was always relying on using the manga jokes without any quality compromise

First season had a nice balance. Season two feels like now we've established the characters all the good bits have been taken out. I was still sort of onboard until the cooking episode. Gave it a shot waiting for plot to return and next episode is more of the same.

I dunno, pretty subjective to be honest.

People not liking the slice of life is fair enough but then somehow going on to say how the show is not showing its potential or something feels pretty hollow to me. Thinking that whatever version of sxf they have in their heads is somehow better than what it is, is just conceited.

And here's the kicker, i've seen the exact same posts but the opposite in the first few episodes of cour 2. About how the show became too serious and all that.
It is what it is.

Agreed for me the first part was more balanced than this one. Part 1 has boring scenes but now the whole episode got boring. Bunch of information that we already knew and jokes doesn't land either and there is not a single wholesome scene in this part. We're pretty much doing the same thing that we did in the 1st part. I hope ot gets better ๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ™
