If light is supposed to be so smart how does he fall for the obvious trap? But I guess the showdown had to start somehow.

| Its been exactly 10 years since I saw the anime and I'm pleased to say this moment still remains one of the best moments in anime/manga. Not exaggerating. Also one of my favourite. It blew my mind when L completely outwitted Light when I first saw it. One of the OG "Holy shit that was EPIC" moments. In this case super smart too which is extremly logical. It was super satisfying. Up until this point, Light was very arrogant and thought he would have not competition. That was till he got his ass handed to him big time. Back then I thought it was fairly obvious that the guy on TV was not the real L. But the fact that he narrowed down his location from the entire world not just to Japan, but the Kanto Prefecture, determined his mode of killing, when he made his first kill and of course his actual existence all at once was insaneee!!!! Mocking him to kill him later was fun as well. Pretty gutsy. The "Im am Justice" part from BOTH of them remains a classic. It was a great introduction to L, one of my Favourite Characters of all time. I have to say it might have been a great decision to read the manga after holding it off for all these years. Let the saga begin!! |
