Remove all donghua from the site

Bruh, you just started the wrong debate. I know some donghua are trash, but there are still good ones like To Be Hero and DLOIMK so they should stay. There’s nothing wrong with keeping them.

If you really wanna remove stuff, focus on doujinshi that’s a whole different issue. But removing donghua ? Not happening.

Or better yet, instead of removing things, why not push to add more non-Japanese anime to MAL ? Start a poll for stuff like Shadow Slave, TBATE (LN adaptations), or even Devil May Cry anime. Break the guidelines if you have to, but don’t come for donghua just because some are bad

I'm not massively opposed to that stuff even if I have zero interest in it but it highlights how arbitrary the definition of "anime" is for this site. That recent Lord of the Rings movie is 100000% more anime than any donghua but it isn't included. I also personally include Thunderbolt Fantasy as anime but its not on the site even when something like Pokemon Concierge is. Its all basically edge cases but its stuff that I notice so it does bug me a bit.

Make your own damn website you China-phobic. And FYI, all animations are anime, regardless of origin.

We're looking at 150+ fake votes out of 788. Almost every donghua's stats here looks like this.
MAL does a small effort to ignore bot votes, but given how that 3d slop nobody watches bloats the top ONA every season, it's safe to say it's not enough.

You're right that the score distribution looks suspicious, but I wouldn't say it's definitive proof that it's being botted — at least not just based on that alone.

A huge spike in only one score (like 8) while all the others have under 200 votes definitely suggests unnatural behavior, and it's fair to be skeptical. Still, it’s not conclusive evidence of bots unless we can see other indicators — like accounts that only rate donghua, have no profile activity, were recently created, or show signs of automated behavior.

@MYZIC if you really want to catch if it's bot or not score distribution is just one slice of pizza and pizza have more than 1 slice should check out accounts that rated the show and see if they have active profile or it's just automated bot or not also not only chinese anime get botted also japanese to all the time so its not only donghua problem

Someone, somewhere has an interest in artificially inflating donghua's popularity here, and I don't like it. I don't want a site I use since 10 years being botted into oblivion and used as a soft power tool by people outside this community. I think that's pretty fair.

Or just add a damn filter. Is so annoying to look at the Top Anime Airing list, and see it filled with Chinese CGI cartoons. I want to see what anime air, and what are their scores damn it! And how does this Chinese crap make the list, but Castelvania is taboo? Why is this site treating this as anime
