Finally a proper score for a show with this kind of animation quality. I feel bad for TurtleMe, since the webcomic is actually good from what I've heard, but this adaptation looks rough. Will ride it out and probably check out the webcomic afterwards though.

I think I'm going to like the story, especially since I haven't watched Mushoku Tensei yet.
Still, I'm afraid that the animation quality will decrease and make this enjoyment worse. (I have no discomfort with the panoramic scenes, but please don't let the fight scenes look so bad).

I tried to post in Spanish — the mods were not amused.

@FranqitoH Mushoku tensei is a real gem of the fantasy genre, I highly recommend it (along with Ranking of kings and Delicious in dungeon).

This is not as bad as the score makes it out to be, just a standard start to a fantasy isekai. Although Arthur's former world being sci-fi with insane technology just looks really off with the poor animation.

from someone who started to read the manhwa then the light novel, i was very excited going into the anime. but the animation was quite limited - there was no range of motion, and to be honest the manhwa had more frames per second. not only that, but the first episode felt like an information dump rather than world building - i will say that this is soemthing the novel and the manhwa both somewhat do, but it is quite evident in the anime, especially since the entire first episode is just Arthur talking about the world, the magic system, the (not so subtle) hints at his past life, and everything when i think it could've been spread out throughout the anime so it would actually engage audiences from the get-go.

[Just started this series, haven't fully checked the controversy with the animation and directing direction that seems to be all over the forum]

But... episode 1... 2 mins in... WTF?

From the Synopsis, I see "strongest king in history", and I was like oh ok, it's going to be like a hero king that the other Fantasy series have... NOPE...

It's literally a King where he sends hundreds of plans to spread-bombing the civilians... What is this? a Russia/ MiddleEast King? LOL

Also... how the fuck did he die in the first place? he was monologuing and then just somehow "drowned"?

TBH, this series sounds interesting on paper, but looks stupid when watching it (in both plot and animation)

Also, the "slide animation", is extremely common in the China 2D Donghua section (that isn't 3D animations).

China is extremely poor in 2D artists to fully anime a series. So most of them with the money ends up going with Tenscent's 3D animation technology. And as such that most rich series goes with 3D, this leaves the 2D culture in China in a poor and poorer states where they all end up as Slideshow or Cutboard animation.

Can't believe I was so hyped to watch this because the webtoon community hyped it up, only to get this kind of adaptation, maybe I'll give this another episode or so but looks like the animation is simply not on par with what I was hoping for

It started well, but for those who read the manga, it ends up being a bummer because the anime doesn't follow the manga's standards. Everything in itself could have a more different dynamic and could be better. That's why I'm here to repudiate the anime.

I know that anime rarely follows the manga's standards, but changing the story so much makes everything very boring for readers. We readers create a fiction in our heads to see the outcome through the comics, and seeing it as such leaves the work disconnected for those who already know the manga's story.

After watching it for 3 minutes, I started getting a headache and feeling bad, which had never happened before. That is due to the large amount of sliding animation, from left to right, right to left, up-down, and down-up. It would be better if there were NO animation at all. I know a lot of ppl said this is not a good anime because of their expectations, but as a person who has already watched plenty of isekais, I had no expectations at all, and yet I got surprised. I want to watch this, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to.

I mean it's defenitly a little funny but it's also just a worse version of Mushoku Tensei in pretty much every way apart from not being as "weird." But overall the writing, animation even largely the voice acting, world building everything is just kind of a step down. He doesn't even have to learn how to read he just magically can read or somehow it uses the exact same writing as in his previous world.

Late to the party but I just like to say that I know this anime is always compared to mushoku tensei though personally I think it has its own uniqueness that just happens to have similar story to that compared anime. anyways the premise seems interesting and worth watching
