Someone give Kyou an spin-off already. It's crazy how bro keeps throwing fact after fact with each passing episode.
And in the end, Ayame did end up being a walking plot device used to speedrun the love triangle storyline lol.

And so, the "good morning's" are forever gone for the Hina bros. There are just "morning's" now. Hina-over indeed.
As for me, I couldn't care less about picking sides in mindless waifu wars so as a result, I didn't feel particularly happy nor bothered while watching this episode. Still a good episode tho.

So... how are things supposed to continue now that the love triangle drama, which was like 80% of the overall story, is solved? Genuinely curious about this.

Right at the beginning, Hina talking about her feelings—her expression was amazing. I don’t want to talk about the main event of the episode because it’s just too sad. Not just for Hina, but for us viewers too.

Go look at my comment on episode 1 and see how cheerful she was, and now see how we’re all hurting for Hina.

About the main event: I’m not happy. Why does the writer deliberately hurt a main character so harshly? Maybe I’m emotional, but there were many kinder ways to reject someone. Like a simple intro:
“Hina, listen, you’re my close friend, but I know this is hurting you, so I have to set boundaries.”

I know Taiki was confused about his feelings for a long time. But Hina begged him, gave him chances, gave him everything, and he was blind. There are many ways to ease someone's heart. Rejection doesn’t have to be cold.

Also, why is Hina this weak? She knows Taiki loves Chinatsu. She expected to be rejected, yet she clung to hope. Her reaction was so intense and sad.

I’m not biased toward Hina, but the scene was truly heartbreaking. I wouldn’t want to go through that kind of emotional pain. Damn, I’m moving on to episode 25. Enough writing.

Man that was painful. I've always been impressed by Hina, and she did another amazing job this time. She conveyed her feelings well. She always does.

Honestly, both Hina and Taiki did well. Good for Taiki that he stands his ground and knows what he really wants.

All the pain aside, I'm seeing an unexpected development between Kyou and Ayame. Hope this is going somewhere good.

You just know it was coming. Forget about this being the penultimate episode or this being a training camp with bonfire, which in the world of anime has a RICH history when it comes to making or breaking couples, but yeah, they weren't even a couple, as you know this was always about Hina and how one-sided everything was. All that talk over how she wanted things to go down and how it still will not, was genuinely sad.

It's easy to hate Taiki here, but for him, this was never something MORE THAN a friendship. We never saw him holding any sort of feelings towards Hina, even after getting confessed to by her some 10 episodes ago. Sure he was confused but that's normal for someone his age when two girls have the same kind of feelings for you.. which in itself is not really normal but okay xD He was clear with his communication, so yeah, the stuff could've been delayed(it actually would have if Ayame wasn't so super smart), but this was inevitable:(

The ship has sunk officially, deeeeeeep down. Power to Hina, and it's over to just Chinatsu from here on out.

@Softhenic03 Ikr, I don't understand why people are hating Taiki. From the very start, Taiki's only focus of love was Chinatsu, and everyone knew that. Hina is a nice girl, but her confession was the first step that pushed her to the abyss of "expectations." A guy who has always loved someone else wouldn't just accept you just because you are a nice girl and have shown courage by confessing your love. It would just make the guy feel awkward. If Taiki had accepted Hina's confession, then to me, it would just seem like he truly couldn't love one person before jumping to another. I don't want Hina to be his second choice. People seriously need to understand that what Taiki did was good for both of them! I pray Hina finds a very good life partner.

Well it was obvious, but still sad :( Hina is best girl, and I see most ppl think that way looking at number of favourites. I wonder what will happen in season 2.

I hate it when anime/manga that I enjoyed ends, especially when there could be much longer plot and when I love main heroine :P

This is so heartbreaking. Ayame just had to meddle in a situation she doesn't understand. Much of the episode was Hina narrating about her feelings for Taiki, and how she will wait while he pursues Chinatsu. It's the night of the bonfire, and Ayame sees Taiki go to the gym to get his jacket. She asks Hina to go to the gym and get some sound equipment. She thought it was perfect. She thought they would get together. Hina wasn't going to talk about her feelings, but did anyway. Of course, Taiki rejected her. Hina knew this would happen, but she couldn't stop herself. And Ayame seeing that Hina was crying. She must feel like a fool.

This backfired so badly on Ayame. Now she knows that Taiki actually has feelings for someone else. Before, she had no idea, thinking that she could get Taiki and Hina together. But seeing Hina cry so much was heartbreaking. This was not a happy episode. Not at all. But in some ways, Hina needed to hear Taiki's actual feelings about the situation they were in. It was not healthy. It was constantly hurting Hina. She needs to move on.

One more episode in season 1. We know this will continue after episode 25. I'm curious about what will happen in season 2, but how long will we have to wait?

So it finally happened. I guess we always knew that Taiki would never risk accepting Hina’s feelings before properly confessing to Chinatsu, so rejecting Hina now is his way of trying to sort out his feelings.
We know it wasn’t easy for him either, so I respect that.
Hina was also reaching a point where it was starting to affect her life negatively, so things will be fine for now.
But we’re not giving up, we’re hoping Hina will get her win for sure one day.

It hurts. I knew it, read the manga. Even if I didn't, it's obvious that it was coming. Still hit me hard.
I love Hina's character, what's done is done, I just want to see her happy, she doesn't deserve this. Also, it's no one's fault. You can't control whom or when you'll fall in love.
Best luck Hina for future. As far as I can remember, she'll move on.

Yep, as much as I feel for Hina, this was just inevitable. Because this relationship was really one-sided, so there was only so much time before something like this would happen! And yeah, this totally backfired in Ayame’s face!

And speaking of fires, now we go back to the bonfire, where that confession right by it, will not be the only one during this bonfire to take place, I can tell you that much! And keep in mind I haven’t read the manga, so you should know where I’m coming from with this!

It wasn't Taiki's fault that Chinatsu decided to live in his house, he liked her even before that, you can't call him a stalker. And there was nothing he could do to make things better for Hina other than reject her clearly and respectfully.

This episode broke me... I mean like, it's literally given me existential dread. It's been a few days since I've watched it and I cannot stop thinking about it. I think what scared me most was realizing that I will never experience being loved like Hina loves Taiki. It was just such pure, honest, and raw emotion. Something about how the interplay between Hina and Taiki was ''brewed" really made it feel human and authentic - not many anime get this deep into character building and building a sense of attachment/reality to them. Kudos to the mangaka for the setup with Hina and to the animators bringing her to life in such beauty. But #$% you for making me feel intense fomo!

As much as I want to shit on mc for rejecting Hina, I am really happy that he stopped deceiving, both himself and her so that things could be straightened out and clear. Man I love author.
Now as for how much I hate mc. Why tf is he going for Chinatsu, because he likes her? Dude from the very beginning she didn't even thought of him like that until her mom told her to chillax and get a bf or something. She doesn't understand her own feeling, she'll hurt him and already is hurting him because she's being indecisive. Dude you got served and were being fed and you still decided to otherwise. Freaking hell dude...

We all knew this was going to happen at some point. After watching Watch My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, I knew this was going to be a similar story. However, I did not know it was going to be done THIS WELL! I feel for Hina, she is such an amazing person through and through, but unfortunately, these things happen, especially when it comes to Love. No amount of hard work can force a person to love you (There are some cases where it does, but not all). I hope Hina can move on from this and grow as a person from here on. πŸ’ͺ

Had this spoiled a few months back, but even I hadn't, anyone could see this coming. But it's better that it happens now rather than later down the line. Ayame set up Taiki and Hina to be together, but instead unintentionally set up something that just needed to be done. Was low-key dreading the coming of this episode, but now having watched it, I think it was done quite well.

_

For Taiki, he's been a boy these past 24 episodes. In this episode, he became a man. You could tell as he got up from his seat; something was different about him, he was fully prepared to say what had to be said. It can be easy to get annoyed with a spineless main character, I know that's how I thought of Taiki all season- but I shouldn't have. Perhaps there wasn't much he could do in the situations he was put in, and he did the best with what he got. We wanted him to speak up and just give it to Chinatsu straight that he likes her, but that can be hard when maybe she didn't show any signs (that were clear to him at least) that she thought the same way. As for Hina, he dealt with her in a respectable manner as well, even after being taken aback on being put on the spot after she confessed to him for the first time. He didn't shoot her down immediately, which might've absolutely destroy her. He decided to take her up on her offer to simply wait until he could give her a definitive answer. Him waiting either shows he was just too scared to give an answer, or that he wanted to give a possible relationship with Hina a chance. Might just be the former reason, but I'd like to think it's a mix of both. Either way, from that point on he actually kept it really cool with Hina, still being a best friend to her, even with the knowledge of her feelings toward him that might make it awkward. And it definitely did get awkward at times, but Taiki did a relatively good job of not blowing it out of proportion, and keeping things cool.

Anyway, back to what's important: finally Taiki has stood his ground and told it straight to Hina's face that he has no feelings for her, and that those feelings are for Chinatsu. Taiki grew a backbone in that moment. That must've taken guts. Lover or not, Hina was like his best friend; telling what he told her would jeopardize the friendship that they had, and he knew that. But he knew that the charades had to stop, that it was not good for him, and it was not good for Hina. He recognized his feelings fully and put them in order, and did what was best for them all. Respect. Any dislike I had for Taiki is gone.

_

As for Hina, well, I didn't think of it like this at first, but I get it now. She knows Taiki well, and probably knew deep down that those feelings for Chinatsu were not going anywhere. MAYBE she would've succeed in getting Taiki to develop some feelings for her, but those feelings would never be as strong as those for his first love Chinatsu. She knew that Taiki's rejection of her was inevitable. So what's the next best thing? That is to entertain the idea that they COULD be together, and to stretch it for as long as possible. She would confess to Taiki despite knowing his feelings for Chinatsu (some would argue that that is toxic, obviously it's clear as to why, but as long as Taiki himself hadn't declared those feelings to Chinatsu, I would argue that it is NOT toxic), and enjoy that period of time before he rejects her and confesses to Chinatsu; because once Taiki does that, it is done, it is over. So yes it's almost as if she's fooling herself, living in a twilight zone, but sometimes ignorance is bliss. This dream state she was in would be better than after Taiki officially rejects her. She she tells him right away to take his time, that she "doesn't need an answer right away". Partly for the hope that Taiki might actually come to like her, but I'd say mostly just to prolong the inevitable for longer. That hurts. Could be cheap writing, could be masterful writing. Either way, it got me feeling for an anime character, so credit where credit is due.

Kinda shrugged it off when she said it to Ayame, but I guess that's what she meant when she said that "it's fun to have a crush on Taiki". Which, is really sad; she knows ultimately she can't be with him, so she enjoys these few fleeting moments where there is but merely the POSSIBILITY that they could be together.

F*ck man, justice for Hina. She didn't have to get together with Taiki specifically, it's just hard to see a character like her be sad. Wasn't expecting chills from her rejection, but chills I got. That somber song quietly playing in the background as she loses her cool and becomes more and more desperate, all the while Taiki continues to firmly reject her, being as strong and stoic as he can on the outside, but no doubt fighting a major battle on the inside thinking that he may be losing a friend.

_

Phewwww. Well on to the last episode, the aftermath, the fallout. Taiki had just grown a pair of steel balls so I'm guessing he's finally going to confess to Chinatsu in the next episode. Don't really know how Chinatsu will respond though, she seems to still be finding herself as well and realizing her feelings for Taiki. Whatever, I just wanna know how Hina will deal with all this moving forward. Will she now be distant, no longer on speaking terms with Taiki, or will they remain friends as before despite it all, or somewhere in between? Whatever it is, hope that they close off the season in a satisfactory way.

This must hurt hard (obviously, coming from a place of less than zero experience that probably is still less painful somehow). Still, can't blame Taiki too, he told what he needed to tell, getting over some understandable confusion and realizing he can't be with her.

It was clear. It was clear from the beginning that Hina had no chance with him. It was obvious. Yet here I am rooting for Hina and crying for her sorrow. I always liked Chinatsu but here I am liking Hina more. She just had more romantic development. Man I feel bad for her.
I cant even hate Taiki. His response is clear and his mind is set on one person. This is one of the best love triangle I have seen.
If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.
