That .gif is awesome, I hope you won't mind if I borrow it?
The episode was really useless, but there were enough entertaining parts, including cameos, that kept it somewhat interesting. Index blowing up Komoe’s roof and Aisa’s pendent(post Deep Blood arc) basically reference the tie-ins to Index, which is pretty nice. Unfortunately, it seems that the entire second half of Railgun will be filler(even if the original author of the Index novels is writing the plots). I want the Imouto arc! Hopefully it will get better, one can only take so much of this worthless filler.
As far as filler goes, this was still somewhat enjoyable. It was cool to see Index too! I find filler episodes like these are a lot better if you actually LIKE the characters in them. Seeing as how I've yet to find a character that I can't really stand in this series, I can only complain that there aren't more episodes ready for me to watch <_<
As usual, no matter how "boring" filler in railgun is, it always keeps me wanting the next episode!
As far as giving side characters attention, this wasn't too bad, but it still wasn't all that interesting of an episode, especially since Tessou was the focus.
francismeunier said: This episode was epic for its happiness/excitement and nostalgia it gave me of Index since Index is in it and Himagami (kep laughing at her hamburger nostalgia)=>
. Now where was Touma missing.... Fan service was nice (biggest breast>medium breasts>flat is the best of Komoe)=>
.She looks familiar..where have I seen her?=>
Epic Index will always be epic!
Another interesting GIF=>
I honestly thought that Index and Himegami were the only good things in this episode. And also what would Touma be doing at this point? Talking with a clone, perhaps?
Can we seriously just get back to the main story?! I'm getting sick of all the OVA/filler stuff.

I don't think the mangaka's going to want the anime competing with an on-going manga. Obviously, he had the opportunity to work out the current arc with the anime writers (who've been directly collaborating with him on scripts; it's a star-studded writing team too, so they're definitely good, but they don't have free reign over what to write), but instead worked out some original sidestories to show more of the sub-characters.
The author promoted these new stories himself before the anime aired, so it's the focus for the rest of the season.
I'd love to eat at that street dinner place with Komoe xD
Looked like they had plenty of interesting and possibly delicious food on the menu =P
And I don't think you could ask for a better person to share your dinner with than the cute always cheerful chibi teacher xD
Also since she's an adult anything that might happen afterwards would be perfectly legal ;)

Yeah I was thinking also that it was :d except for the bugs just wonder how much can it cost?

I would have more like to drink with her and go to the onsen with her where it's unisex drunk then you know....loli teacher with Turner Syndrome is quite alright as long as she of the mature age....

Presumably quite expensive even though it's just "bugs", I'd guess it qualifies as some sort of delicacy and not that commonly sold. But who knows perhaps they just catch them in the local pond and cook em up xD

Aye that would be quite nice indeed :)
Would love to visit a real onsen sometime, the 'closest' thing we got here in Sweden would probably be a steam sauna, which actually also comes in unisex variations so not too bad ;D
As for the age, I go by the principle of "I won't tell if you don't" ;)
Sure it might have been a boring story.
If you watched 'Toaru Majutsu-', I think you also enjoyed this episode.
Index, Himegami, and drink milk scene, etc...
Also that milk "milk Musashino" It was interesting.
But the most interesting is it actually happened an earthquake, when it occurs in the anime.
It's not like we are really gonna get a real arc(imouto) anyways, might as well enjoy the fillers to the fullest. Even if the show IS going downhill, the characters are good enough to keep the show to a watchable state.
Annisa said: JC Staff probably think they can't do much with only 7 episodes left so they're filling it up with nonsense. Tessou is an okay character, but she's boring, and the episode's boring. Even the Index and Himegami 20-second appearances can't save it.
Well the material ended at episode 12 so they had 12 other episode to make something good, yet they are failing at this.
Then, I don't understand why they didn't just stop at 12 episodes and announce a second season that will cover the imouto arc. It's kinda pointless and a waste of time/money/resources to produce 12 extra character-driven filler episodes. ~_~

That what we are all fucking wondering about: Why didn't they stop at 12 :X.
Well it's called railgun so whatever shit they put on it will still make it sell. We saw the same phenomenon with Haruhi s2 not long ago.
Even when doing a filler introducing a secondary character, production values are top notch and there's definitely some quality writing, so it wasn't a bad episode.
In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same.

Actually I disagree here. I would think the characters extra information will prove more useful for another season when they make one.

No since the other season won't focus on the character they are actually developing, that's why I call it useless.

They will not focus but think of it as character appears and you know their past therefore you can understand at that point why they do what they do or why they act like that......am I not right in a sense about that?

Not right since it do not comes from the main material.
When you write a story you develop character in one way, JC freely chose to change the way these character develop and it may go in slight contradiction with futur event.
An exemple would be Saten. JC staff make it look like Saten understood that she should gain power with her own means and that if she works hard she may get an ability someday. In the manga there is not such a reflexion and by the end of the level upper arc we have a Saten who regret what she did but did not gain all the developement the anime did. If the mangaka latter chose for Saten to go slightly wrong again then it will contradic with her current developement in the anime, sure they can fix it up with filler but it loses credibility imo.
Also I couldn't care less about stupid dorm teacher and useless megane No-skill.
Hence why I dislike the use of filler in anime, it's useless developement since it won't affect further events.

What's the point of doing character development for low-end supporting characters that will most likely never get any significant screentime again?

agreed, railgun is just a side story of 'a certain magical index' to begin with so i think it's useless for the anime to release filler episodes

Sure, it's a "spin-off" of "a certain magical index" so the whole series is a filler; however it's to deepen the universe and still get money based off the separate storyline of each character that most of us just couldn't give a damn about.

If the one who write the manga, the mangaka, chose to make something who contradict with the anime then it's the anime maker fault and not the mangaka.
yamato21 said: a pretty boring filler episode and looks like the next one still a filler. will they animate the accelerator arc ?
btw, index and himegami show up in one episode lol. now, where is touma ?
Yes it's still filler and it will be filler until the end of the season so no accelerator arc.
Filler started at episode 13 for people who wonder, right after Misaka destroyed the AIM burst.
I dunno why everyone won't try to get something positive from those episodes, learning about some charakters and their actions. Before this Episode i kept asking myself: why is this useless thing of anti-skill doing this job? now i understand, yay.
And i think there were some scenes foreshadowing some events which could happen in a side story or additional story. So, I'm not really diasappointed, i can fantasize as much about the oncoming story as i like. ( I have to say, i haven't read the manga)
And Satens state of mind.. i don't think she really accepted the fact, that the only way for her is to work hard on herself in order to get some powers. Or that she really wants to work on herself as hard as nessecary. I don't know where this is shown in anime, but for me, anime only watcher, she still seems depressed. (On the other hand it may be that in manga the impression of her is stronger and as a result you see her in another way in anime)
Well it was understandable so don't worry about it, I had a hard time not long ago too.
I do not consider the developement of character (minor or not) useless when it does come from the main source (the manga in this case). What I dislike about filer is that the developement goes to waste, let me explain myself more specificaly:
In the anime we saw Mii's ability which wasn't shown in the manga yet (Well maybe it was said in Index's novel but I seriously doubt it given that other than Kuroko and Misaka we do not see much the cast of Railgun), if the manga continue and that we end up having a Mii confrontation later on and that the mangaka makes her power something else then we hit a wall.
Her side story with the Milk guy is something with no link with the main story, it can add to the story and deepen her character in a way JC staff tough of. I'm okay with that but if later on in the manga Mii is described like a straight girl who never commited a crime or anything related to that then all oh her side story goes to waste.
Then let's take the Level upper arc.
We got filler material in it and it was ok, why? Because we knew how the arc will end so it was possible to make filler who would make no contradiction. They increased the amount of Level upper user case and it was all the better and served to deepen a bit more the trouble the world was currently facing because of it.
It's just exemple, I'm not stating that this will happen but that's what I think on the matter.
You got a point there. When things pointed out in the Anime will contradict with the Manga, then it is somehow pointless. If it would have been alternate to the Manga from the beginning, then hey, no problem, but as it is right now you're totally right with that.
So we have to hope, Mangaka and Anime director do have some conversation about developpment and story, so we won't get disappointed.
But due to my lack of knowledge about the manga I couldn't understand your "fear" before this post.
And hey, Milk guy, what was the phone call from that fake guy about, this could lead to a new interesting side story. You get what i want to say? Try to think less about the story of manga but more about hints given in those "fillers" ( put in " because if something happens based on those fillers, they won't be seen as filler anymore). It could lessen your anger about the state this show is in for those who know the manga.
Wait, I am pretty certain that Misaka was in Judgment at the beginning of Index. Plus we have to have the clone thing come up soon, then again that might be the end of the series. Plus Touma needs to lose his memory, and just 4 episodes he recognized her.
Unless they are ignoring the continuity.
Liked the episode, they must have run out of manga though.

Misaka never was in Judgment. We won't see the 'clone thing' (imouto arc) since they will finish up the season with filler and they do not have time to make the arc (Which is a lot bigger in railgun than index)
Touma lost his memories not long ago, the loli teacher said that a student destroyed her roof, meaning that the Touma vs Index already has been done and that Touma has lost her memories. It also mean that the tree diagram is destroyed at this point.
There is continuity but if you do not take time to think about it and look it up then you will be pretty much fucked because Railgun start before Index.
They stopped following the manga (and not run out since the imouto arc is ongoing in the manga) at episode 13

Yeah, I looked up episodes 7-12 of index for that purpose xD
I could nail down the time of the current railgun episode to 1-3 weeks before Touma encounters the first sister. So there will be 7 episodes left covering 3 weeks now. I wonder what they will do.

Ah, I love it when an anime suddenly mentions Vietnamese food. Glad it wasn't the stereotypical phở (I'm looking at you, Blood+!). And she even pronounced bánh xèo correctly, with the tones!
This episode just hit the mark on how the daily life of many single working people is. Work all day and go to your apartment to have a nice shower and rest. Maybe go out for a drink with your coworkers if you have the time. Yeah that's about it.
BTW those things that Komoe-sensei was eating were really scary.
