| I'm watching anime for the art style, animation, and everything else. If it's not good, then I might as well just read the original, and if there isn't one, I won't watch the anime at all. |
| I'm someone who tends to care a lot about visuals/artstyle in anime, so I understand that view. BUT, I do think it's limiting and you should try to not let artstyle stop you from watching a series that legitimaly interests you. I got into anime because of kawaii culture and moe anime, so I mostly watch series that look cutesy like that, but one of my favorite series is Banana Fish and if you've seen it, you know it's everything but a cutesy-looking series. BF´s artstyle didn't appeal to me, at all, but if I had let that stop me, I wouldn't have discovered one of my favorite series, and a very good one at that. Honestly, I think people can do whatever they want, just don't be a jerk to others about it and don't try to judge the quality of a work based on aesthetics. If you're gonna watch anime JUST because you want something visually appealing to YOU and that's what you're gonna pay attention to, don't go then turning around and pretend you're all-knower about the quality of the series. Understand that, you're putting yourself on a position where you will most likely not be able to properly understand the story. |

Yes, but it's not the most important aspect. I care more about the story, characters, and OST.
I don't think I would ever skip a show only because if I didn't like the animation. It just feels a little weird reason for not to watch something.

Same and agreed as long it's something I'll like or enjoy and I kind of take a "don't judge a book by its cover"/ "never judge a book by its cover" approach as well. |
| Art Style? Yes Of course its valid to not want to watch it, these are subjective opinions, if someone who is used to only mappa, ufotable, toei animations, goes and watchs something like Idaten Deities, or Jojo, and say "Yeah no" then thats perfectly valid of them to do so. |

| Well of course. It's literally a visual medium. So choosing styles seems essential, doing anything else would be dumb. Would you eat food that you hated and tastes horrible? "Oh yessir I'm eating this limburger cheese because I eat all types of food no matter what and imma finish all of it before I review it" Said no one ever. |

I used to be kinda like that. Mob Psycho knocked a little sense into me. Before, I would have never watched something like that since I specifically watched anime to get a different visual experience than I'd get from most other cartoons. By that I mean, I was younger and hornier, and I wanted to see more attractive characters. Mob doesn't fit that for me, so my younger self would have completely avoided it. Among other things, like Jojo.
| @FanofAction same, i was going to talk about mob psycho too. when I was like 11 I saw a trailer for mob psycho on Crunchyroll and was immediately disgusted by how it looked and was literally like "whos going to watch this, this looks so ugly" to my sister, but like 5 years later or whatever I saw it again and watched it and now I don't even know how I thought that. rlly good show either way. |
