I barely remember this from when I watched it as a kid, but I decided to rewatch it recently, and wow - it left me feeling so empty by the end. Easily one of my many favorite slow-burners tbh.

Ah, it's finally over...

That cat was such a dickhead to Sakaki till the end. He didn't have to bait her into petting him so he could bite her... Ig it's just payback. Thankfully, Sakaki actually has a cat who appreciates her now.

Bruh. Osaka has the cutest sneezes ever. How does her body operate? Maybe she's actually an alien and she's from a planet that coincidentally has the same name as Osaka from Japan. I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case.

I think I was Chiyo in this episode. I was so emotional. From Chiyo getting a standing ovation thanks to Tomo and them singing the song... It really got me teary-eyed. But then Azumanga Daioh being what it is made me burst out laughing thanks to Yukari-sensei's antics. Lmfao. Wonder if I really would've cried otherwise. Would've been the first time an anime made me cry in over a decade. I think the last time was when I watched Doraemon Steel Troops around 2011/2012.

Kaori was able to get a photo with Sakaki. Good for her. She probably won't see her again so it's good if she's able to have a keepsake.

Oh boy. Yomi was able to get in! I'm so happy for her. I'm so glad that pretty much every character got what they wanted by the end. And they went to Magical Land together too. I'm glad the show didn't forget about it. Tho I wish we could see them enjoying the rides in the park.

That's right Chiyo-chan. Even after you've graduated, you'll still be together... Well, at least when you're still in Japan. The last Raspberry Heaven really hit hard man. Unlike the last episode, there was no preview either. It really made me sad that there was nothing else to watch after this.

What a wild ride this anime was. Took me 30 days to finish it. I wish it was far longer. I didn't expect this show to be such a pure SOL and take place over the course of 3 years. As much as I would've loved to see the characters stay in high school and have an indefinite amount of chapters, I think the finality just makes this anime far more valuable. It's a bittersweet pill to swallow. Of course, if the series was long-running I would've had 0 complaints. I'd watch every single episode no matter how long it was.

I don't usually talk about dubs but I think I'll do so here. I didn't watch the full series dubbed. Only switched to dubbed in certain scenes. And I gotta say it's very impressive how almost all of the dub actors sound almost identical to their Japanese voices. Their delivery was fantastic too! Well, the standout has to be Osaka's VA. Giving her a Southern accent was certainly a choice. I think her dub voice was incredible but there just something missing from the Japanese version. Japanese Osaka's delivery has a deadpan feeling which is just lost in the English dub which sounds a bit more energetic. But I guess it's not really a big deal. I'm just surprised how small things can make such big differences. They're both good in their own ways. But of course, the original Japanese dub is the best. I think I might rewatch the series in English dub eventually.

I once thought that Nichijou was from the same author as Azumanga because of the artstyle but it's not. It's cool to see how you can see the influence of Azumanga Daioh in other series' even today. It's truly impressive. Idk much about 4-koma manga but from what I've seen it's really impressive how the author can cram so much stuff in just 4 panels. I think it's even more impressive how the animators were able to translate that so seamlessly into anime. The anime had to make up so many original jokes or visual gags to make the series this good it's very impressive. Many modern comedy anime could learn from this show. The way this series uses music and pauses for jokes to land is something that many anime today don't get and thus fail to make their comedy land. Maybe I'll read the manga at some point. But the show is so good that Idk if I'd enjoy it as much. And I think the anime covered the entire manga pretty faithfully because of how short the series is. So I doubt there were many cut content if any at all. I love complete adaptations like this.

I don't really have much complaints about the show. Almost everything about it was perfect. Sure, some characters like Kaori could've used more fleshing out. And I kinda felt baited after the first episode that there was basically no male student character. But still, Osaka, Chiyo, Tomo, Yomi, Sakaki, Kagura, Yukari, and Nyaomo all made it worth it. It's rare for a show to have so many likable characters. So these complaints are more like nitpicks. There wasn't a single episode that didn't make me laugh. Every single episode was phenomenal which is super rare for any show.

This series was so unbelievably good. Very few series made me feel the way this series did. It was far better than anything I had expected. I was expecting a weird unrealistic gag series but it was way better than that. It almost feels like it's not over. I'm glad this series is still talked about today. It had a bit of a revival lately and I'm grateful for that. Not sure I would've watched it otherwise. I'm glad I watched it when I did. I wish it was longer. I like the strange brainrot memes. But they're not really an alternative to the real thing. I'm gonna miss this show so much.

Chiyo looking back just pushed it too far. A single tear fell =(. I'd say this episode makes my overall score go up to a 9, it's that good =D.
@Seasonreaper I was gonna give it an 8 but ended on a 9 on the strength of the last episode. Many teary moments. So sad that Chiyo is going to America though. I hope she keeps in touch with everyone.

I watched this over the period of a week, and I have to say, I'm angry at myself for not properly watching it sooner. It was a silly, feel-good thing to pass some time with and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. I loved the entire cast with the exception of Tomo (who's only value is being the original face of the Caipirinha meme) and Kaori. I think Ayumu has got to be best girl for me, though.

I'm just gonna go on a negative personal tangent here, as this episode especially made me think of my own high school days. I hated high school with a passion, I think I was at my lowest throughout it. Everyone was so mean-spirited, classmates and teachers alike. Depression hit hard during 11th grade and I ended up failing a subject for the first time in my life. I didn't have many friends, had a parasitic stalker almost ruin my life for an entire year, had a ton of people who wanted my existence erased for some godforsaken reason, and it was all around a load of shit. I graduated, what, 8 years ago? And I haven't talked to a single person from high school since. I don't even think I want to ever see them again, let alone talk. This isn't me being edgy and antisocial, I just genuinely don't feel any sort of deep connection to anyone I went to high school with, enough to the point of wanting to reach out and feeling like we should be together again. I envy Chiyo in that she still possesses her childhood innocence in believing they'll all care for each other enough to stay in touch and preserve their friendship post-graduation. She's lucky to be blessed with friends that care for her and vice-versa.

I will say, though, the fact that it's managed to transcend its original time period through memes and the like is so fascinating to me. Like, closing in on almost three decades since its airing and yet it's STILL being referenced pretty often, I just think that's kickass. SATA ANDAGI!!!!

insane that this anime is the one of the few slice of life and iyashikei shows which has proper ending, and it is basically the first one
