there are 10 volumes remaining to adapt after this season end. wonder if they would like to finish it or leave this franchise end here. the volumes adapted for this season (6-7) will still has those energy from previous 5 volume. but after those, i'd say the story started to be slower and less interesting. haven't read 15-17 yet. if they proceed to continue for another season and finish the adaptation, will they rush vol 10-14 or simply skipped those to reach final three volume?

Most light novel based anime never seem to finish the anime. Hopefully it is a full adaptation, but I tend to doubt that unless they plan a sequel anime to konosuba.
The only finished light novel anime I can think of are

Dunno, doubt they'll end it at this season though. When I was reading, I thought it lost a little steam around the end but I didn't mind too much, I didn't want it to end anyways, very few times have I been as sad to leave a series behind as I have with this one, the group chemistry is unparalleled. I think that as long as people continue to like it, they'll continue adapting. I think the slowness won't be as bad in the anime anyways. They can pretty easily speed things up a little. I doubt they'll straight up skip volumes.

I’d say it really depends on how season 3 does.
They announced season 3 along side the Konosuba Explosion prequel. As far as I understand that one was received alright. But for an isekai LN adaptation to fully finish doesn’t happen often.

The only ones I can guess would get a full adaptation would be Overlord and Danmachi (tho both are still going in LN so who knows)

I’d love for them to adapt the entire series. And hope for a season 4 or a movie announcement shortly after the season ends.
At this point when it’s pre release it’ll be more of a waiting game.

The 9th volume is one of my favorites so I really hope they will adapt it in an eventual season 4, but we'll have to see if the third season does well first :)

If it's another 10 episodes season then it won't adapt all remaining volumes. I can't wait another 5 year for season. I hope they will finish the show with 10th anniversary in 2026.

if it continues like this, no, but if they do some more movies and a 24-episode season, then maybe

Even if this season is 24 episodes, it won't be able to finish the whole adaptation properly.

I meant this season, which will be like 10 or 12, and another one with 24 and a couple of movies, which is very unlikely that it's gonna happen but that's the only way for it to cover the whole light novel

If this is a 2-cour season, the chances are high.

It seems to be one of the most popular Isekai anime running to date, & people rewatch the previous seasons many times. It's also still going strong in other media. I think there is a strong possibility that they adapt the whole series. Of course, the bigger question is how they do it. I think Volume 9 would be a great film sequel to "The Legend of Crimson" & the perfect conclusion to "Explosion", but idk if they would do any more movies after that. I don't see popularity waning enough not to finish adapting the series. I also hope Natsume writes the sequel series before the anime is finished being adapted.

Would classroom of the elite year 1 technically count as a finished series?

Technically but also no, since the series just continues under a with “year 2” attached to the title.

Tho I feel like I need to ask, why are you asking about classroom of the elite on a Konosuba Post

You brought up overlord and danmachi both are ongoing. So i got curious about if perhaps they would ever adapt cote or stop at year 1
which led to the comment.

Didn’t the first two seasons adapt like 4 volumes with the movie only doing 1 vol ?

You're joking, right? V9 is wildly considered one of the best by most fans, many rank it the single best one.

V8 is chill, it comes after the briliant volumes 4, 5, 6 and 7. Then V10-13 are "filler", they weren't originally in the WN. It is still ok and has some great things/chapters here and there but in anime format, as long as they adapt well, there will be no problem. Then most of V14 is also "filler", but the last chapter kicks off the final arc.

V15 is probably the single best Konosuba volume ever, 16 is also great, as well as 17.

In its current state, no chance. They announced it will be 11 episodes. That will only cover 2 lns max. They need a other 5 course to do that. The gacha is at shutdown levels of revenue. That is way too long after the ln ended. Plus the spinoff flopped hard and the movie underperformed.

@MazeCuber they won't adapt the whole thing especially since they announced it will be 11 episodes only. They will need 5 more cours. The franchise literally has to stay alive into the 2030s.

@RobertsahDHDA sales will almost certainly collapse if they try to adapt past vol 10. The sales already have collapsed from bakuen and current pre orders for season 3 blu ray look terrible.
