| I’m super intrigued by this anime’s pacing. Episodes 1-6 were dark and edgy with landfills of blood and death. Now, characters are introduced and not immediately killed off and there’s a lot of comedic scenes? I’m very amused by these forum posts as even the people who enjoyed this show for its gratuitous gore are getting turned off by its change in tone (aka there’s no longer a graphic death scene in every episode, which I absolutely respect those who miss them; they’re bad, but in an enjoyable way, admittedly). |
| I think some posts for this and past episodes might be a bit harsh, but I can understand because you could say this show is an absolute trainwreck. So far it is rather hard to like the MC at all, this is a trashy revenge like Kaifuku, minus the porn stuff, a lot of the writing feels DUMB, and characters' motivations should have been executed, for this series to work better. anime_24 said: what a Great Let Down. Couldn't agree less, the start of this series had some promise but it quickly disappointed me when I got to see how the MC would be, and how the writing was being handled, yet I have kinda grown to like this more after the last 3-4 episodes mainly due to Doroka. Doroka is like some are saying, the saving grace of the series right now, she is a bit dumb, but I like her design a lot and ended up creating empathy with her, that must be the role the creator gave her because it is damm impossible to find sympathy to other characters outside her (with exception of Chloe, but she is dead). It is kinda of refreshing that since the MC a bastard like that, Doroka is at least at odds with him and will express her opinions numerous times. This series honestly as lot of potentials, and I like the twists it has, it was predictable that the queen was behind it (https://the-kingdoms-of-ruin.fandom.com/wiki/Lady_Dorothea_Grethe), when you see how she is being portrayed along that dumbass king, and the fact that she is behind it all, it makes me less bothered with the human side. Previous to the reveal I felt they were being too BRAINDEAD and retarded, going on a blind crusade suddenly like that, with the witches never having turned against them previously, but it makes sense, it was bitch witch that was behind it all. I like that you cant predict where this series will go, starting from ep2, I would never foresee all that shit would happen, so at least this is a series that will surprise me. But if the writing was more solid and better executed, to let you feel some empathy by either of the sides of this DUMB conflict, I'm sure this revenge story would be way less trashy. Again I like to see Doroka, a bit airhead, but I actually care for her and find her amusing, honestly, the MC does not deserve her, but she will probably end up with him at the end. Right now I feel an ending where he dies, to atone for every shit he did (same for that bitcho witch), would be fitting, almost all characters in this series so far, outside Doroka should burn in the flames of hell, they all are above redemption for how they have portrayed themselves to be.
