As I've seen the series before, it of course didn't surprise me that Soichiro turned out to be Light's father but I still think the reveals works on a subtle level. No major music chord. No fanfare. Just Soichiro coming home for dinner.

We get more of Light's intellect on full display with his plan to turn L and the police against each other and a little info about the Shinigami and what their reality is like.

My favorite moment was Ryuk explaining the Shinigami Eyes to Light.

Will there be a moment for Light to kill his father? Or will his father protect Light in case Kira's identity is revealed?

Ryuk is not on Light or L's side. He won't tell Light the names of those people, if Light wants it then Light will have to trade it for half of his remaining life. On the other hand, Light didn't know how much longer he would live, and Ryuk didn't tell him that either. I think it's quite risky because he might die in the near future.... but it's an understandable decision.

Episode 3 of Death Note, titled "Dealings," continues to build on the suspense and strategic battle between Light and L. This episode dives deeper into the psychological mind games and introduces new layers of complexity to the story.

We get a closer look at the police task force’s investigation into the mysterious deaths, with L narrowing down his suspicions in an impressive display of deduction. I seriously doubt light will take the deal, I think his ego is too big and he values himself too much to give up half the rest of his life
