The Eminence in Shadow (light novel)
| I would say Kage No is more so average 7 lacking much of a unique identity that the top isekai have. It is no Re Zero where the mc can get demolished for making a bad move. It does not exactly have the world building of Mushoku Tensei. It appeals to a certain style of humor not found in Konosuba or Fabinku. It can still be enjoyed though. Also, stuff like Bookworm, Overlord, and Reincarnated as a Slime are up there too. |

| Nope this was at best, 20 episodes of wasted money, resulting in a lackluster comedy Isekai. At worst it was a cringey and at times not generic, but boring show, that you don't need to pay attention to, since it isn't meant to be taken seriously anyway. |

| @EdgyLord666 not what i said at all. i said not as many older people are going to enjoy it vs a younger audience, not older people are more mature then people who enjoy this. that comment was based on the comedy style, its a style used for targeting younger audiences and thats just a fact. dont put words in my mouth. also we arent talking about solo leveling which is ranked hundred above this one in both popularity and ranking. and for a reason. it kicked off and trendset a whole genre of webtoons and art style copycats. that should be commendable even if you didnt care much for the story. although compared to this show solo leveling has a much more complex story and character depth and that says alot. shadow garden is just way too one dimensional in almost every way. it also not fair to compare a comedy heavy series and an action heavy series together. not the same at all to do proper parallel analysis. and yes that dude is a bot lol |

| Maybe? It's certainly quite unique, and one of the better Isekai I've seen. But it's far from being the best. I absolutely love the chuuni shit and I love bigger than life characters. The problem is his "I am NPC" facade can be too much at times to the point of reducing my experience with the series. Dual persona protagonist has been done multiple times before. For example, Code Geass has this too, but they pulled it off really well and make it easy to like both sides; Both Lelouch persona and Zero persona are very likeable despite being very different. I never been a fan of the listless, emotionless type of characters, so I'm really not a fan of the NPC Cid persona and how he's so nonchalant to everything despite him supposed to be "the average NPC man." But his Shadow persona is unironically one of the most fun character I've ever seen. It's still better than the average Isekai for sure, plot feels generic but not exactly a bad thing. And the worldbuilding and side characters is quite enjoyable. But there are plenty scenes that hinders the fun. If I had to say something about the series, is that this has some sort of identity crisis. |
