Goddamn, Roy... I was expecting -something- to happen to him, but not expecting him to go -blind- after crossing the gate... Hiromu Arakawa is a genius.

Al sees his nekkid, skinny body, and rejects it to better fight Father. Al, you bighearted idiot. So brave and yet, you going back gave Father exactly what he wanted...

Although Mustang can be annoying... his punishment is kinda severe..I mean ...eyesight? thats one heck of a pain..and pride humoring about it.noticed how pride is also dying ..i think..his cheeks falling off..and now we know why the truth takes certain parts of peoples bodies.makes sense..Overall an impressive chapter..

DOT DOT FUCKING DOT

Roy D: Hang in there...You think he'll be able to fight despite that? I want him to become fuhrer, God damn it D: I literally WTF'd when he said it's pitch black...I wanna Geass him with 'Live!'

Scar vs Wrath, wtf, I wanted Ling to finish the job...but yeah, two nameless guys against one another is good enough.
And Alphonse...I want to hug him D: He's just the biggest Woobie in the world. I almost cried when he left the body there and went back...although doing that will just give Father what he had wanted...
Can't wait for 103.
DAMN IT ROY

Gotta feel for Al. Couldn't retake his body because of how useless it'd be, that's harsh. No one got screwed like Roy, though. That's just bad :'< Really sucks having truth take his eyesight. Gah, this was just horrendously depressing. Scar and Wrath is pretty ridiculous too, though I was hoping Scar would make his way down to the other five. At any rate, no complaint other than the fact it felt so short. Now we must wait another month and let this boil over.

I'mma go cry about Mustang now.

-Bradley was badass. Again. (why bother mentioning it?)
-Roy can't see his dreams fulfilled
-AL rejects his body to help everyone

Great Chapter

- Wrath is officially most badass character in history of Earth. Seriously, his "Whow ill e the one to take my life" line was overly epic. You just CAN'T hate the bastard.
- Mustang...oh Mustang...Thats just...
- Alphonse at the gate scene too...

Agreed thats the most depressing fma chapter ever.

Kudos for Arakawa. :(( Never thought Roy would blind after he passed the gate. And AL.
Such a brave decision, you. But I often wonder, why Al's body could talk something like that if his soul is in another place ?

I want the chapter 103 right now, actually. :( 1 month...1 month...

Indeed one of the most depressing FMA chapters... Roys Blind - Al body reject - nameless vs nameless etc

But Roy being blinded sigh I feared something like this.

Oh and
I dont hate bradley BUT I was a bit "WHY ARENT YOU DEAD" as I wanted Ling/Greed to finish him

Well whos to say what will happen by the end we might wind up with everyone with 'normal' bodies again. Unknown

That's a little too nice and neat for Arakawa, though. I like the idea of permanent consequences to human transmutation be permanent. A big, magical reset wouldn't work with this series. It would be more fitting if they gave up that search for their normal bodies but acquired an experience even greater in the long run.

OH SHI-
Is the first thing I'll have to say O.O
Roy D:
And suddenly the Truth makes so much more sense O.o

Then Al abandoned his body so he could fight xD "Well I'll go get it later"-style
But wait.. What's his body on about after his soul left?o.O

My WTF-sense is tingling like crazy : D
Haven't felt this excited in a loooooong time, too bad the chapter ended right there D:

Yeah, pretty epic and sad chapter. But Roy...Roy's not one to give up I don't think. So I want to know what he's going to do next.

And Al, he's pretty brave, but it shows just how much he cares for those people.

Can't wait to know what happens next.

Technically.. he should be able to transmute without the gloves now..
But wait a sec, equivalent exchange is still in effect, right? I mean, that's always there unless you have a philosopher's stone

Ed and Isumi can transmute without the exchange. Since Roy went though the gate, he should have the same rules applying to him.

no they cant....you need a philosophers stone for that....thats why ed and al were seeking it to get their bodies back.....if they didnt have the exchange requirement they would've just done it themselves lol

Ah, I see the mistake.
Let me rephrase.
Ed can do Alchemy without a circle.
So Roy should be able to now just snap his finger without need of the gloves.
Just a thought...

...I don't think Roy can just snap his fingers... He still needs the spark cloth, I would think. He just doesn't need the circle that's on the gloves. So long as he can get that spark.

What I was really confused about was how Al's soul was talking to his body. Is his soul split and part of it's still in the body? Is Truth hanging out in Al's body for these times? Is there something else entirely inhabiting Al's body while the soul is away? How the heck did that scene work?

Knowing me, this is one of those things you're not supposed to notice, but with the evil Al body at the end of that part, there's reason to believe there's something else at work there.

Also, if Al had returned with his body, would he still have been a sacrifice or would the entire thing be null and void (because having an out like that and not knowing it would be awesome and ridiculous).

Guess we'll find out next month. =/

Either Ed or Al will die o.O I'm betting on Ed. ehehe.
...actually, Anyone Can Die in this series o.o That's so cool. Just...not Ling, please...
My prediction: Roy will save the day and die. And then Ling will be emperor and rule over Xing AND Amestris, which will be ridden of the military-use alchemy. And all the female soldiers will be wearing tiny miniskirts in honour of the fallen comrade.
-sniff- I made myself cry.

No I didn't. But almost.

Arakawa, I love you so much. T^T

edit:

I'll die when Ed dies. Too much awesome character development going over the river + one of my most favorite characters of all time. I can't stand the thought of him dying without having produced a few sweat children with Winry. T.T

Well, I'm betting on Hohenheim. Something like him sacrificing himself for his sons in a last attempt to act like a parent... or somthing like this.

This is second or third-hand information that I can't verify offhand, so take it with a huge grain of salt, but I did read somwhere that Arakawa confirmed when the Al body at the gate talks, it's not actually Al but rather Truth talking in Al's body.

I'll find a reference if I can.

As for Al Body's cryptic last comments I took it as a sign that going back like Al did would give Father exactly what he wants- all five sacrifices.

Roy shouldn't be using his flame alchemy because he can't see where to pinpoint his flames. That could be very dangerous and harm others in the vicinity.

In general though; not just Flame Alchemy, he should be able to. (though knowing Roy, he'd try to find a way to still use alchemy even being blind. He's not a weak character)

Yeah, but the Truth-kun is white, and the Homunculus is black. Kinda like good and evil... like God and Satan. XD *well, the Homunculus said in this chapter that the Truth is the one that people calls God*
Anyway, that chapter was pure awesomness. I was shocked and cried when I, with Roy, realized that he's blind, and I was even more shocked and admired Al when he made his decision.
Who else thinks it's the best chapter of this manga so far? Milion times better than last, at least (for me; I didn't like the last one XDD)

Entering the gate means the alchemists can use their own bodies as transmutation circles, since they've seen "the truth". So theoretically, the only difference if Roy were to use his fire alchemy, is he'd have the ability to clap his hands together to make a circle, instead of requiring one be drawn on his gloves. He'd still need a source of spark though probably.

My guess is that the transmutation circle on Hawkeye's back is gonna help Roy actively participate in the fight again though.

There's no use for Roy to create his mini-skirt army now. It was very heroic of Alphonse to leave his body at the gate, but Truth sure is a bitch. Guess he knows what will happen. Besides, I guess that Al might actually drop dead immediately when he gets his body back.
