No, just no, is legit not canon to the manga and it can be a bit confusing sometimes especially the end, if u like reading manga, just read the manga.

I haven't read the manga imo season two is the best season out of the entire anime. Kaneki is my favorite mc by far and there are some moments that I really enjoyed in this season. Everything that is coming next is not that good haha. The whole concept changes a lot and I don't like that

Season 1 is a decent introduction to the story but if you want to dive more I suggest not watching season 2. It opens up with a sudden change in Kaneki’s whole chatacter and morals, cuts out a lot ir Juuzou’s backstory and has unexplained stuff which should have been explained in season 1. Season 3 just opens up with a massive plot hole without any explanation how anything turned to this point (because of the missing manga chapters which actually wrap up Tokyo Ghoul for Tokyo Ghoul: RE). Again Tokyo Ghoul: RE has massive plot important terms, names and so on missing because they were basics which should’ve been explained in season 1. Like the thing about the cells and how a kagune is actually formed and why does a ghoul have one? I didn’t even bother with season 3-4 after what my friend told me after they finished reading the manga for Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul: RE. They said if you want to get into the plot then just read the manga. I’m writing on behalf of what they told me and my own experience. If you’d like, you can give the rest of the anime a shot but I’d recommend that you just read the manga first and see if you end up liking the rest of the anime so you don’t get lost in between the huge gaps which are between Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul: RE.

people are love/hate about it, but my personal opinion is… no. the story is COMPLETELY different from the manga, and the thing i hated most was that Kaneki is basically unrecognizable compared to how he was in season 1. Like literally a completely different character. He changes in the manga too, but you can tell the Kaneki we know and love is still there. can’t say the same about the anime.

The only things i can say were that the soundtrack was great as always, and there were a few REALLY powerful moments at the very end of the season. but i’d say reading first is the best option.

I loved Tokyo Ghoul until I watched this. Don't taint your image on the anime by watching it's downfall. Read the manga.

only if you read the first manga and exclusively the first manga, then anime starts off fine but doesn't do the story justice and it goes downhill, and Re is a crime against humanity in both anime and manga.

Watch it for the experience? XD I love season 1 more but at least you can have you own opinion after you watch it ^^. And if you just can't finish it the beauty is you don't have to.

Honestly, they aren't bad. Most of the hate stems from manga fans being disgruntled by the switches. It's worth it, especially RE

As someone who enjoyed all seasons, I would say yes. People say it's confusing and terrible compared to the manga, but personally I never thought it was confusing and I thought the plot was good, you just have to think of it as a whole other story. Just a side note, if you get confused on something, it's usually answered a few episodes later
