What can i tell... remembered the girls snapping / destroying the Wall and the happy ending, but didn't with the middle part with the red light recording studio plus the upsetting 22/7 pictures as young kids. No, wait, somehow i forgot the Wall speaking full sentences to begin with even earlier, and it was freaky to the extreme. Poor Jun, she looked so frightened, Ayaka instead commented "uh... pervert" with nonchalance staying on the couch as a queen. LOL. Miyako trying to attack aggressively and Sakura stopping her had soooo many Nico and Maki vibes at the end of Love Live season 1, and who knows... knows. Nicole of all people pleading to undo the disbandment hit a chord in a out of character moment considering her cool / calm / collected usual self, but at this point it became obvious what was going to happen. You don't mess with Miu, enough is enough, she is gonna make you pay. And most of 22/7 correctly join in a moment satisfying to watch (on the side... it actually was voiced by the seiyuu of Frieza? Really? i thought it was a joke from a previous post of this thread but... that's him. Damn.)
"They should return, but don't force them". Uhm, yeah, now it all makes sense actually. Great to watch so many supporting fans yelling out loud "we always believed in you", "we knew you couldn't actually disband", even if... real life is something different and "we don't know what the future will bring" is hard to listen for me, aware that a season 2 just won't happen at this point and it seemed almost a miracle to have received just a single solitary stand-alone music video since. Yeah, depressing real life spoilers below...
As of september 4 2025, everyone from the original lineup except for Nicole and Sakura's seiyuus isn't part of 22/7 anymore and all the respective characters have been written off as a result, Miu included as the last one just a few days ago. Sally Amaki, Sakura's seiyuu, is also the only surviving original in service since day one as Nicole's role was recast just shortly before the anime series beginning, and it also seems she is the only one having landed later on multiple different anime roles of a decent celebrity (Carol from Tomo-Chan Is A Girl as a easy example)
Despite some forced moments here and there, i have no doubt about confirming i enjoyed 22/7 anime adaptation even harder compared to my first watch, not being able to be sure if despite the depressing real life discoveries that explained why this season 1 will have no sequels at all or, by paradox, exactly because of the same. i can probably call Love Live (all generations until Liella included, but especially μ's), Zombieland Saga and 22/7 my personal big 3 of idol anime series but to be honest they're also the only ones i saw for now even if it still seems hard to surpass even one of them. All made their own choices and all worked for me, this was obviously the most bittersweet and dark but again, i'm very used to this kind of feeling to begin with so it was natural i would have enjoyed it. Thank you, dear local comic book store owner for suggesting me this series when it was completely new. i will totally miss Jun, Miyako and the rest of 22/7 and will never set myself free from thinking "What if..." about the series aftermath.
P.S. ...reading again the lyrics of Muzui (a perfect choice for the OP song and a instant earworm since day one) is indeed difficult. Not just for this cast of young girls, but even for middle age adult men. It's not "I've been there", "I'm still there" and there is no way out. Oh, well, borrowing from the words of a great guitarist / singer of a great 90's grunge band, this series took something ugly and made it beautiful.
9/10, confirmed.
