I guess the scene at the school rooftop was necessary, but it was also kinda boring. Slap from the mom was quite predictable.

They raised the railings to a full fence on the school. Nice touch. This is quite a consistent and dynamic story. The only thing othering me so far is her brother letting her just go into this world she has never been a part of…

That slap from her mother really was unnecessary but needed

Don't understand why anyone would support that slap. But we all have different backgrounds I guess~

Anyway, came here to Just rumble on some nonsense.
This episode damn~ Sayu's dialogues were exactly the same ones I had with myself over and over and over, over the first few years since I lost a friend in the same manner.
" I just pretended to care about her! But I didn't know what was really going on with her."
This episode had me relived my own past.
Other than us having the same sentiments. I am not as brave as Sayu to return to the place of the incident. In fact, I couldn't even bear to travel the adjacent road to that place. I am still a coward trying to run away afterall... Will probably die a coward.

I want to be able to smile when I think of her too....

P.S. this show really is terrible. The only "normal" people in here are Sayu and Yoshida (yea, iffy coupling by the author, but their psych and actions makes the most sense in the context of the show)

Well, that was powerful for sure, Sayu going back to the place her friend had committed suicide. I have very few words for it, but it was done well imo.

What in the actual hell is wrong with her mother though. First time she sees her daughter in 6 months, and first thing she does is give her a massive slap on the face. Seems Sayu really wasn't exaggerating then.

Next episode will be something, I can already tell.

IRL what Yoshida said was pretty callous and emotionally unintelligent. Yeah your best friend died not long ago, or even if it was a long time ago, you were centered around the death, and witnessed it. "But it's in the past now, it doesn't matter anymore if the cause was you or not." What.

Proper cause was the bullies, and how two teenaged girls were understandably ill-equipped and inexperienced to properly handle all that on their own. The proper responsibility lied with the bullies for being so horrible. They have to take accountability, and maybe Sayu would feel satisfied if the bullies got justice and faced the consequences of their actions, not be comforted by Hallmark platitudes. Sayu was a true victim to their bullying as well. Her friend's death wasn't her responsibility. Getting justice over her friend's death would be the ideal course... make sure the bullies learn to never do that again, because it's wrong, and the consequences are severe.

She could have done things to help prevent it, possibly, but no one would fault a naive teenaged girl for not having done that or knowing.

She's finally trying to face her past with the help of Yoshida and her older brother.

Then, she got slapped by her mother... 🫣
What a reunion!
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.
