I'm disappointed, episode 12 is different from the novel and this is what happened in the novel.

maybe I took some comments to serious but if "our" Elaina never was affected by the time travel tragedy this raises the question which of the other stories she has actually experienced. We have a few different Elainas in EP12 and apparently the violent one had the events of EP9, while some of the others certainly had events written in the book which "our" Elaina never experienced. Like Ghoul and Jelly Elaina obviously, unless we have to assume "our" Elaina simply mamaged to turn back. But if that were the case, whats the point of meeting the different hers when she also knows what they know already?

From episode 1 to episode 12, in the anime, we follow MC Elaina and her story. In the anime, she has traveled back in time with Estelle and witnessed Selena's death. Violent Elaina also witnessed that event.

In the novel, readers also follow MC Elaina, except she never did the time travel thing. Only Violent Elaina has done it.

That's the only difference I see mentioned in this thread (besides the devil Elaina thing).
MC Elaina (both in the anime and the novel) didn't know for sure the story of other Elainas, she just assumed Violent Elaina had gone through similar things based on her hair and their conversation (and their similar notes/journals, in the novel). To some extent, we can assume that all Elainas share a similar journey, with some degree of variation in them - but, still, they all arrived at the same point, at the same time.
how did they set up the "violent Elaina" route in the novel then? I mean the revelation that she meets her other parts only happened now, was the time travel only told to her by violent elaina after they met too?

I understand the LN and anime differentiate here, but Im also wondering what the means for the story at large. Aside from the time travel, we are following MC Elainas diary and not the book written by all of them together right?

Yes, it was told to MC Elaina by Violent Elaina.

- So here the part starts to be different from anime. MC Elaina asked Violent Elaina why her hair was short. She said she didn't have enough energy to grow hair back at that time.(Because Estelle drained her magic energy)
- Then Violent Elaina asked MC Elaina if she ever went to the city of Rostolf? (The city where Estelle killed Selena)
- MC Elaina replied that she's been there and it's a good city. Then MC Elaina remembered what happened in that city.
This is the LN scene about what happened in Rostolf city from MC Elaina's point of view:
(...)
You saw the difference, right? MC Elaina didn't help Estelle in this timeline because Selena was already killed 10 years ago
- MC Elaina was confused about what was wrong with that. Violent Elaina then tells about what she experienced in that city (Episode 9). MC Elaina said she had never experienced that and did not time travel to the past. (The anime changes this scene, in the anime Elaina seems to pretend she doesn't know, in the LN she really doesn't know)
- The rest is the same as the anime where Violent Elaina explains why she is angry and after that they fight again. (...)
- Then they made up and Violent Elaina asked "Would you like to hear the story about me going to 10 years in the past?" And MC Elaina answered "That's why I'm here."

As you can see, MC Elaina only heard about Estelle from a play, but learned more about the details of it from Violent Elaina.

Yes, we would also be following MC Elaina, apparently. I assume the reader also didn't know about the whole story of Violent Elaina and Estelle before they meet and Violent Elaina told it to MC Elaina.
I'm not entirely sure, though, if we are reading MC Elaina's story or her actual notes. I'm not a LN reader either, so I would ask @ShiroHachi about that.

- Before MC Elaina left the city, Devil Elaina said that all those Elainas who came here were not your imagination/dream, all those Elainas are real (From another timeline). So MC Elaina is the result of changes made by Violent Elaina because Estelle killed Selena which caused MC Elaina to never help Estelle and never did time travel in new timeline

That's not entirely true. Estelle mentions that she captured and killed Selena in the MC Elaina's timeline (3 years before they met) for killing her uncle and becoming a serial killer after her parents were murdered if I'm not mistaken. Which is why she requested MC Elaina's help in order to go back in the past and keep her parents alive to prevent Selena from going down that dark path. Only to find out Selena was already on that dark path and she was the one who killed her parents.

The only way this would all make sense was if the Elaina on episode 9 was NOT MC Elaina.

About the short hair I don't really understand how she didn't have the energy to grow it back. The episode where she had it cut happened before she met Estelle and she managed to regrow her hair back in that same episode actually, meaning every version of Elaina already had their hair fully restored by the time they met Estelle.

Hey i Have a queastion.

Does that mean that we actually follow violent Eleina, untill that thing in Clock Town happense? Because the time line with MC Elaina should not exist, so we change Eleina Character in the middle of all of it.(AKA dont follow the same Elaina, as the one in the beginning)

I think that could be the case actually. It's either that OR we follow MC Elaina the entire series EXCEPT episode 9 where it's Violent Elaina that goes back in the past and the episode 9 where MC Elaina would have been happened offscreen because nothing happened in that town from her perspective.

I don't know what you're talking about, Episode 9 is Violent Elaina's point of view.

If that is confirmed in the LN then my only remaining question is how do you explain Violent Elaina becoming too exhausted to fix her hair when she had it restored in the previous episode?

It is Protagonist Elaina on episode 8 but up to that point in time it's also Violent Elaina. Both should have their hair restored BEFORE the events of episode 9. Violent Elaina only became Violent Elaina BECAUSE of episode 9 that takes place after episode 8. That or there was a mess up in the episodes order.

From what I heard from LN readers, the ripper incident was happened AFTER Elaina visited the clock town, the anime simply messed up the order for some reason.

That seems to be the only explanation possible.

that's what happened in LN, somehow the anime changed the order, I thought you understood that, now I know why you're confused
