| Masamune staying up late to "study" about romance no wonder he's good at it, he's full-on try harding at this point that slight blush by Aki though and that rain scene that kind of looks like a cliche but it doesn't matter Things changed up a bit after Masamune acting cold towards Aki and her reactions say it all until that is she confronted him finally, Oh Damn that blush from Aki she's showing that side of her that sweet feminine side that no one gets to see So she knew Masamune and Yoshino are talking behind her back and she might actually be jealous of it, That save by Masamune I see that Aki could've fallen for that but no this new girl has to come in we'll see her in the next episode though looks like Masamune is head over heels for her. |

| Whoa, stuff actually happened in this episode, no joke this was a rather pleasant surprise when I expecting nothing to EVER happen. Aki discovers Makabe and Yoshino talking behind her back, but not knowing everything, just knowing that Makabe is using Yoshino to help him appeal to Aki. Then as Aki skips school we get quite a lot insight of what's going on in her mind and we see a little bit why she is the way she is, and seeing that she does see herself as the awful person that she has become. Then a car comes speeding down the road almost hitting Aki, had it not been for Makabe seeing her and saving her at the last moment (not planned as it seems, because Makabe had no idea who this new chick was, speaking of....), them locking eyes, and, this early on, Aki maybe was about to tell Makabe that she had fallen for him. But it's all for naught, as we get a new cock block character coming in to pad the run time. Which isn't an issue if you don't like Aki, and vice versa. Man I wish Makabe would've just accept the umbrella back without going full "left on read" mode out of nowhere. Didn't he stop to think that maybe accepting his umbrella back from her would be a moment for them to connect even further? Plus she tried again and again, when you'd expect the "cruel princess" to not even bother. Come on dude. I have no idea how these characters are going to act in different situations, even including our main character, who's mind we are inside all the time. They are unpredictable; that's either good writing (you usually don't want things predictable), or bad writing (inconsistent character motivations and what not). All I'll say for now is that I'm glad this isn't a FULLY hateful relationship between these two which I was expecting. It's a love hate relationship, which is still a bit painful, but as bad. I'm just kind of sad to see Aki soften up, just a little bit, only to be unaware that Makabe has no intention of being with her, only to put her down once she does confess, and ruin her character even more just for the sake of his feeling of gratification in revenge. Maybe that's the whole point, maybe this journey, no matter how perilous, will result in Makabe giving up his quest for revenge, seeing the changed person in Aki and seeing that she no longer deserves the plan he had initially set out for her. Well for now it's obvious that that's not the case for this season at least, or else it probably wouldn't have a well below sub-7.00 average score. Maybe what we want to see happens later, in season 2 which is currently airing right now. Anyway, I'm giving this show too much thought than it deserves. On to the next episode, with that cock block character. edit: also I just gotta say that I freaking love "disgusted" faces, it doesn't matter who it is. I loved Aki's expressions when Makabe went all shoujo-manga on her. Priceless as always. |
