| I keep forgetting Kuro is supposed to be one of the main characters. He's frequently absent from a solid portion of scenes in every episode, and has about as much personality as a speck of dust. Saki, Kotoko and even that giant snake yokai are all more engaging characters than him. On the other hand, Nanase's case is much more involved than the previous one. Rather than simply deducing everything right off the bat, Kotoko has to do some sleuthing this time in order to get to the truth of the matter; it's an appreciable alteration in narrative structure. |
