I like how the establish the power levels of the ultimate 5 before the actual fight begins by staging a "mutiny" of sorts within their upper ranks, led by a guy who was sent from the government. You'd probably begin to think that they'd all be on equal footing, but then we quickly see that the ultimate 5 are leagues above anyone else by how quickly they fold the mutineers. And we get the introduction to Shimizaki, pretty much one of my favourite anime characters period. I also like how they pretty much establish him as the most powerful of the five by implying that the boss holds him in such high regard as to have him take care of the real important missions. I thought his only power was teleportation, I forgot that he could predict movements AS WELL AS being freaking bulletproof. Overpowered much? Yeah, and it's awesome.

Their hunch about mobs family was spot on, I'm curious to see how this world domination turns out. Kinda great to see the gang getting bigger.

Behold of my awesomeness~

Orphans are often found in the media, but it's less common for the viewer to be first introduced to the family and its importance to the main character and then killed. Ritsu played an active role in Mob's life and in the story, and in the episode "Discord: Choices" we were shown what Mob would be like if he were alone. So the viewer had the opportunity to become attached to the family and to feel its importance to the main character. Even the fact that the Dimples and Reigen did not know whether or not Mob's family had actually died added to the drama of the events. After all this, killing Mob's family would be an interesting and unusual move in terms of storytelling with a great impact on the viewers.
So when we were suddenly shown a living Ritsu and told about the hot springs... It felt as if all that long intense build-up was for nothing. Unfortunately, such trickery detracts from the believability of the story.

But what can you do! Let's keep watching.

I really liked Shimazaki.

I thought the evil guys kid was like just a rebellious trope character but looks like he full on is opposing him which is surprising. I was right about the parents not dying but looks like they introduced that foreign squad just to show how strong the elite 5 are.

Too many things happened in this episode lol I don’t even know what to talk about. This arc can be very hit or miss, we’ll see how it goes I guess. I don’t mind the fake out deaths but tbh a lot of the stakes in this show for me are gone. Like i don’t think we’ve had a single death besides maybe that one pyrokinesis guy Teru burned in season 1, which is not good compared to the amount of fake outs we’ve had

That reminds me though, Teru also used pyrokinesis this episode. He really just be taking all the abilities from his ops

Well that's it for me. I'm logging out of this series for good. By shifting the focus from the individual named Mob (titular) to a grand fight for world domination between quasi marvel heroes, this has become a less interesting version of Boku no Hero.

Goodbye Mob. You, your sensei, and your familiar were the only interesting characters in this often forced and irrational plot. It was a good try overall, with potential for great comedy, but the writing didn't work out in the end. Dropped.

There were some questionable decisions made in progressing the story from here, but I'm still feeling happy and confident with the direction it has taken

Here comes Claw!

Also, wow, more Espers.

We're still not even sure if Mob's family is still alive.. and oop, they are, never mind. Heh, glad they're safe, tho.

It seems that episode is giving us an insight into the Claw Organization more. It's going to be pretty interesting where it goes from here.

Introducing the Ultimate 5. I like the Esper Ryo Shimazaki, reminds me a lot Gin from Bleach and Smiley Sakai in Initial D. XD

Finally they're building up the strength of Claw more. Up until this episode it never really showed that there was even a remote sense that they were truly powerful

Don't like how this episode was so rushed. With Mob being calmed down so fast then the revolution all of a sudden begins, new characters being introduced but defeated in an eye blink and earlier appearing characters suddenly just switch sides, which is cool but still no room for real character development or motive...quick exposition here and there.. What is happening??

the story just got confusing... I'm also slightly upset about the fake deaths. While I love Mob's family, it could have raised the stakes a bit, which I wouldn't mind

you know it's dark outside, when you go outside, and it's dark. -_-
