I don't know, I can't see spending hundreds of hours on a new mobage for pretty animations and grinding as worth it. There are AAA quality games for those, and they don't(most of the time) constantly try to lure you into spending more money.

Well, can't say that before you try it. Like I said, I tried plenty of mobage before I got to this one, they are more popular but it didn't click with me. This game is pretty chill, it's pretty similar to FGO in few ways. It's pretty generous with its rewards too so I don't feel the need to spend money right now.

I fucking love this game. It's so much fun than playing FGO. Fast paced battle with kickass animation just make you feel awesome.

Here's my team shredding some monsters.

I got Destina, the best healer in the game. Sez ( I rerolled for hours for this guy) and Haste, two absolute units that can deal massive damage. And a sturdy old guy, still need to work on my Tanker.

This game has only been out for a week. Pretty crazy. There's so many thing to do to make my team absolute bonkers.

I can shred someone my own size too in PVP.

Sez's NP deals crapton of damage on other units when he killed someone with it. They never sees it coming.

Oh Epic Seven? I guess I can see why it's better than FGO. My cousin dropped it bc he felt bored and he really likes Epic Seven.

Im probably not picking up a new mobage tho. I don't really have the time to play Magia Record other than FGO, and I dropped Girl's Frontline

It's a pretty chill mobage. There are lots of strong low stars units so you can clear the story with only them but having 5* is a lot better. The gacha is a lot like FGO, even the rates.

The game give free 10 rolls that you can reroll 30 times! so it's easier to reroll the 5* you want at the beginning. It still take me 3 accounts to get the one I wanted though.

I like how even the fan trailers are just adding Gogeta in because all the rumors and marketing made it super obvious.

I wonder if Vic Mignogna's gonna leverage the fact that this is a different Broly in order to change the voice a bit. I know he's said that he absolutely hates doing the voice since it destroys his vocal cords. I selfishly hope he keeps that voice though. It's iconic.

He'll have to pull out all the stops for this one if he does the same voice since I hear this Broly gets quite mad with rage. Like, Asura's Wrath levels.

It took me days (mostly to raise my units and figuring how the fuck I am gonna beat the boss) but I finally beat Epic Seven story mode. Goddamn, it's feel like an actual RPG game instead of mobage. The animated cutscene really sold it. 5/5

Now I can chill a bit.

Question to anyone familiar enough:

Is Persona 3 better to play on PSP OR PS2?

There doesn't seem to be a consensus when others have asked on the internet, so I'm curious to know what people here think (if anyone's played it)

Depends.

Persona 3 FES on PS2 features superior presentation and graphics, anime cutscenes and an additional ~15 hours epilogue.

Persona 3 Portable on PSP features all the gameplay improvements from Persona 4 and the ability to play as a female protagonist with added content exclusive for her.

HOWEVER, P3FES lacks FemMC and a few gameplay quirks and P3P replaces all the 3D graphics with VN-style cutscenes, generally looks less impressive and lacks the epilogue.

My personal recommendation is to go with Persona 3 FES on the PS2 because I feel that they sacrificed a bit too much to get the game running on the PSP and the added content isn't worth it.
It gets even more skewed in that direction when you consider that the male MC is the definitive and canon MC according to all the future games and anime adaptation.

Sadly, there's no definitive version for Persona 3, so you'll have to choose no matter what.

If you only care about gameplay, then PSP. If you care more about the story and presentation, PS2 by far.

Well considering how much I loved playing through Persona 5, I'm definitely interested in playing some of the other titles in the franchise. Only problem is, I only have a ps4. So I think for an early Christmas present for myself this year, I'll buy a ps2 and get persona 3 and 4 along with it.

You can try to get a phat PS3 that has full backwards compatibility and get custom firmware on it so you can play backed up PS2/PS3 games. Then you can enjoy the undubbed versions in all their glory.

Since you have PS4, getting Vita might be more profitable. Persona 4 Golden is on it, it's an improved version with extra contents. The best feature of Vita is the remote play. If you get the older version of Vita, you can jailbreak it and get most games for free.

You can just play Persona 3 on PSP emulator on your phone even.

I added Epic Seven to my game roster two weeks ago on my main tablet but still haven't tested it out.

I have almost every Vita game up to date; no reason to jailbreak at all.
Alternatively, I have almost every PS4 game I want too.

When it comes to games:

PC Master Race - 430 games
PS3 - 308 games not including PS+ titles
PS4 - 214 games not including PS+ titles
PSV - 190 games not including PS+ titles

PSP - 203 games
PS2 - 291 games

I have every platform of the recent generations.

This Black Friday, I am gonna increase my numbers!! ^^

Those first incarnations of the ps3 are almost guaranteed to fail at some point. They're much better than the 360, but sooner or later you'll get the yellow light of death.

And from what I can see, the dub of the persona games are actually really good. Especially if you watched shows like Bleach dubbed cuz the voice actors are pretty much the same lol

I also second the opinion that you should emulate it if you have the hardware.

If you already have a good PC then it's not worth getting a PS2/PS3. But if not then it's really convenient to have a PS3 that can play all PS2/PS3 backups. PS3 backups especially for stuff like Nier Replicant, undubbed Tales Of games, etc. I have a phat 20gb PS3 that I bought over a decade ago, and it still works. I had recently gotten a 500gb HD to replace it and it's just great.

And yeah even if the dub is good I'll always prefer the Japanese voices in Persona games, and it makes more sense given the setting. Especially considering the VAs they chose, like Mamiko Noto, Maaya Sakamoto, and Yui Horie to name a few.

Only dubbed unfortunately. If you insist on getting a PS2 then I'm sure you can still mod it to play PS2 backups which includes undubbed versions of Persona 3 and 4. I used Swap Magic v3.6 with a Flip Top Cover for my PS2Slim back in the day, but I'm not sure how it is now.

Also good tastes. I'll always prefer Sean's Goku over Masako's having grown up with his voice in my childhood. Though Ocean's dub is still pretty damn good during the Saiyan Saga.

What about ps3? Or what are the options for me if I just want to play it subbed in general.

And yeah, no disrespect to the Japanese voice cast, but DB dubbed is just to nostalgic and Sean and Chris just do a great job along with the others, especially with the Kai and Super dub.

PS3 models after a certain point removed backwards compatibility so you wouldn't be able to play PS2 backups as well as the older models that have it. Phat PS3 20GB/60GB models typically all have backwards compatibility, and getting CFW on them is a really simple process. Just make sure you give it plenty of breathing room so it doesn't overheat since that's the main cause of it getting the yellow light of death, and to use the CFW to manually set the fan speed to reduce any chance of overheating.

Ocean dub needs more love. Just try to watch these without getting chills.

Find an iso online that has the English voices replaced with the Japanese ones. As for playing it on a PS3 with cfw, you just put it in the HD through a USB or something and play it from the menu. Skullator on youtube makes fantastic tutorials if you need more info.

Eh, emulation is just going to get better and better as time goes on. PS3 emulation in particular has been making many improvements the past year, enough to play Drakengard 3 at a smooth framerate, and Persona 5 at 60fps. Not to mention all the graphic mods you could do...

There isn't a single bad remix for the theme of the Velvet Room too. It's the "Emiya" of the Persona series, in terms of quality and presence in the series' installments.

Absolutely. It never gets old too, no matter how much time I spend in that room.

Though, you have to hear the other side of that coin: Blues In Velvet Room.

It's a remix that was on the OST and ultimately was unused in the game. It's basically the jazzy version.

I honestly have no idea why, but Persona 5's OST got super repetitive for me. I can listen to P3 and P4's OSTs for days nonstop, but I was on the verge of muting P5 at some point past the 70 hours mark.

Don't get me wrong, it's super good (except for the battle theme, that one can burn), but I think that their composition didn't feel as fresh and impactful for me like the previous two OSTs.

I think it has to do with the amount of songs they play for each area. It's not as various as P3 or P4 which changed by time of day and seasons outside, in school, etc. P3 especially is perfect.

Yeah, the composer Meguru Shoji is just plain awesome with his guitar usage.

There's a track in Persona 4 that plays during the second-to-last boss battle, called "Mist", and Meguro does a solo in it himself, and it's probably the best sounding guitar solo I've ever heard.

This is the track perfomed by Meguro himself on stage and it's amazing. You can skip listening to it for now if you want it to remain a surprise

And yes, the Persona 3 Velvet Room is an elevator, as Shinso said, so I like to believe that it sounding like elevator music is totally intended and kinda brilliant and cheeky on their part to even seriously consider the idea lol.

Mickdrew said:

Just a heads up. If you ever plan on playing more Persona in the future, definitely hold on to your sealed copy of P5 and don't open it until you're done with the previous games. P3 and 4 are just way better played before P5.

I dunno, I'm perfectly fine listening to the other two OSTs to this day without getting sick of it the same way. I don't know if it's the tracks having too many repeated parts, unlike the other two, or it's just the genre of music Meguro used in P5 that's not to my pallet.

I kinda get what you mean. Persona 5's OST sounds...tiring to listen to, for lack of better word.

There are some tracks that are bangers, of course, like Life Will Change and Blooming Villain, but youtube keeps recommending Rivers in the Desert to me and I'm like, "not again," because it makes me want to sleep, which is the exact opposite of what a boss theme should make someone feel. The soundtrack might be too jazzy for its own good, because a lot of it is droning and not-energetic. I can appreciate jazz, but the whole soundtrack being jazz makes any track hard to distinguish, especially since there's a lot fewer tracks with lyrics in the game.

True that, the pain arc is one of my favorite story arcs period. The war arc was so up and down with good fights here and there, but also some really questionable plot decisions. Not to mention the anime got really deluded by filler down the stretch even after the manga finished.
