It also helps a lot that this character was almost taken word for word from HF in the first place. Add that they say that Saber sucks even more in UBW because UBW Saber is calm, not "serious" and less relevant. While I agree that all those statements are extremely stupid. They do write saber like she sucks, specially urobuchi apparently hated Saber so much it made her look like a completely trash or a character with stupid backstory. We can see that all over Zero: Diarmund fight, First Gilles fight, Second Guilles fight making her useless because of the wound by Diarmund np, so he had to break his own NP for her, that "kings" chit talk that was only "Lets bully Saber because she's not a tyrant", Lancelot fight ( although I understand this was more due to psychological breakdown ) . Even in UBW we can see that she's constantly nerfed. |

If it had been the plain clothes version, I definitely wouldn't have been able to finish the story. Even just seeing one in a store window was enough to make me drop to my knees, ashamed of my own ugliness, and yell to the heavens, "What kind of man am I, bullying such a pure and beautiful young girl like this!?" By the way, about Saber's suit. When I first imagined it, for some reason I just naturally assumed it would be a tuxedo. But after the art actually came in, I ended up settling on the current not-too-mannish traditional suit. Thinking about it now, making her patrol around a rustic suburban city like Fuyuki in full party dress would have been extraordinarily embarrassing for her, so it was probably the right call. |
