He was afraid of her attack but instead of running, he chose to fight thus facing his fear and his destruction was the result of fear itself obtaining a small bit of courage. Its like a pitch-darkness giving off a ray of light; its paradoxical. The ending should only be called bad because a) the characters all healed within minutes and b) Maka's inexplicable Weapon-form. From what I've seen the ending is very misunderstood by people who dislike it in general. It is rushed and there is definitely a shit ton of plot convenience, but ignoring the culmination of all the show's themes and simplifying it as power of friendship is dumb imo. Imperfect ending, but good nonetheless. |

| This show took a few episodes to find its rhythm and then it was such a fun show to watch but it completely stumbled right before the original content started and then nothing made sense besides the fact it needed to end and well, this was an ending. Excalibur and Kid were the best thing by far. |
| At no point during the episode could I predict what would happen next.. I don't think it was necessarily bad but, based on the previous episodes leading up to the finale, I was expecting a more traditional battle between Maka and Asura The ending montage was sweet though |
| Soul eater has been one of my favorite anime for years as it was my introduction into anime in general it has its flaws I think the manga is better I didnt like the ending and maka being a weapon was super stupid but overall great anime and wonderful characters maka being my favorite one of them all along with Black Star and Medusa |

| Well this was a fun watch, wasn't anything special but for what it's worth, it was enjoyable atleast. The cast was the best part about it imo and the unique visuals. Certainly not a bad ending by any means. Now to read the manga and see the difference. |

| Finally, I'm a part of the 1% of the fanbase who has finished the show, and honestly, it was amazing. The ending, however, is lackluster because of the buildup we got beforehand but honestly, I don't think it matters too much since the rest of the show carries. Death the Kid is probably my favorite character with Soul, Maka, and Excalibur tied for second. |

| @francodm1086 lmao I definitely need to rewatch the anime and read the manga but yeah I remember people hating on the anime's ending back in the days... I was one of the cool people who loved the whole series. Anyway yeah no 2nd season, maybe a new adaptation would be cool I don't know. |
