First going to address the first few episodes, since everyone's hating on this because of those episodes. In the first few episodes, all romantic movements come off borderline pornographic. But if you keep watching, there was an overall reason to do so. At the end of episode 5, we see that Mei's father has returned. And during episode 6 we see Yuzu recognize that what Mei needs is not a lover, but a family. And that's where the dynamic changes. It goes from Yuzu wanting Mei, to Yuzu wanting to be there for Mei. And at the end of episode 6, there share their first true kiss. And that's what the first few episodes were there to show. The romance shown in the first few episodes is just Teenage Lust. And then afterwards, it becomes Love. And that's where the anime starts shining. Once Yuzu and Mei's relationship steers away from lust, and goes towards love, the anime only goes uphill from there.

And for those of you who hate Matsuri, just remember she's a kid. A kid with workaholic absent parents. There wasn't anyone there to tell her what's right from what's wrong. When Mei tells her that they're similar, she's not lying. Only difference being that when Mei was alone, she chose solitude, while Matsuri went for getting attention through her weird online things. And that's also why Mei says that tells Yuzu that Matsuri needs her. Matsuri does need someone like Yuzu to guide her.

Citrus may have steered you away atv the start, but if you stick through, it will bring results.
