I thought anime was a dead meme in my country here in Finland until I joined went to army. Like, 50-60% of the people I've talked with have wat hed few shows or actively watch anime. What the hell Finland.

Bruh even my niece and nephew know what's anime and they're in elementary school. Both like Little witch academia.
Yeah I guess I just wasn't that much of an outgoing person since I didn't know that anime is quite known in Finland lol.
Apparently there're even cons every now and then here and there all over Finland. Huh, I guess u can learn something new every day xd

Well, it is quite popular here in brazil, mostly because of the japanese immigrants (Brazil has the 2nd biggest japanese population in the world) so you can imagine that it had a great influence among people here.

There are conventions that occurs every year here, although it is nothing like USA/Japan, but it is really interesting (São Paulo one is the biggest).

The tv here passes some mainstream animes like Dragon Ball, Naruto, Pokemon, Diigimon, etc, and also i've seen Fullmetal, HXH, Death Note, etc. And i do know a lot of people that watch/read anime and manga. Unfortunately, due the corrupt government and its criminal taxes it is almost illegal to have manga, figures, dvds, almost any product related to it.

Well, not really. Manga are not that expensive actually. I myself buy a lot and I think the price is pretty fair. DVDs are also not expensive anymore (if you know where to look). Buying figures is getting buttfucked though. Maybe you´re falling for the lies about our own country. It´s a trend to bash on Brazil here, but, if you think about it, it´s not THAT bad (although I totally agree with prices being high as fuck in general).

There's a time when I honestly thought that Doraemon is the best anime of all time. Also when I'm getting to anime, I was searching "Knockout"(since that's the Title in Phi as I remember) and sometimes Hajime no Ippo would pop out and I'll be "tf is this shit?", then afterwards I found out both are the same.

Ohh well when I was in Phi I only got to watch anime during mornings anyway so there's that too.

It's popular enough to have an actual anime convention in a weekend. (Winnipeg, Canada)

It's quite popular here in Australia. Although, my city doesn't have many stores to get manga and other paraphernalia of the anime persuasion.

Aside from the annual anime conventions, I can confidently say I've seen nothing else in Hong Kong aside from One Piece, DBZ, Naruto, Gundam, Kimi no nawa and of course Doraemon, but anime is not exactly popular here

I’m from Australia. People don’t really ever talk about anime but we have some shows on tv like Pokémon and Didgimon. Naruto is pretty popular but not on tv though. People from school talk about Naruto a bit. Australia is a very multicultural country so we have a pretty big Asian population. For manga it’s not easy to find in Australia. Though at school this year they had manga at the library. In September this year me and a couple of my mates went to a studio ghibli event and saw a couple of films that was pretty cool. So yeah that’s basically what it’s like in Australia 🇦🇺

Anime is very popular here in the Philippines. I would say that some other people in our country want to be an otaku. I only laugh at them.

Anime and Manga are quite popular here in Spain, We have plenty of Publishers, some bigger than others, but they cover pretty much all the spectrum of genres so it's easy for a manga to be published here. We also hold the biggest Anime and Manga Expo (In terms of Audience) in Europe (Barcelona's Manga Expo).
