can you add an option, when sorting by progress, to sort by number of episodes completed instead of percentage completed.
so, for example the anime with the least amount of episodes not watched but available is at the top.

or, if even possible to get the duration info and sort by total duration.

and thanks for your work. we appreciate it.
You're asking for a different thing then, take, for example, an anime with 150 episode but you've 50 left and an anime with 100 episodes but you've 1 left, with what you asked initially you're going to get the first one at the top but what you said afterwards makes it seem like you want the second at the top, which is actually how they'd sort currently.

The second part of your suggestion is impossible because MAL doesn't provide the duration of each episode in their API, I don't believe.

Kinda unrelated but I guess I can mention it here, I'd like to ask for the dummy number of episodes for when the episode count is unknown to be increased a bit, to 15 should be alright because most 1 cour shows won't have more than that, problem right now is that with the number being 13 episodes, when sorting by progress, entries with unknown number of episodes are going to mix themselves with 13 episodes entries and I honestly really don't like how that looks at all, not to mention most entries will have their episodes known by like the 6th week so it shouldn't be a big problem to increase this number.
If possible I'd like to see the number being much much bigger for entries which haven't aired yet.

Also, maybe, just maybe, you could break the Progress column in 2 or even 3 and make it so you can sort with the bar (sort by %) or sort by the amount of watched episodes or even sort by the amount of total episodes, just a thought.

Not sure if this has been suggested before, but it'd be really cool to be able to export your viewing history to a text document or something. (unless it's already being saved somewhere and I'm just unaware.)

Is it possible if taiga use only a database update?

I mean, each time a new season we need to update the program too, if we can get only the database, I think it will be more efficient

if the program update and new season addition is only a coincidence then this post can be ignored

Sorry if this is too much too ask or had been suggested before

thanks

It's not exactly a coincidence; I use anime seasons as the de facto release interval. However, there are lots of new features and bug fixes released alongside new season data, as you can see in the changelog, so releasing them at a different time wouldn't really change much.

Since you've reworded the menus on the Torrents tab a bit how about adding a new column called "Title" and changing the current "Anime title" to simply "Anime"? What the "Title" column would return is what Taiga would search for if you use the "Search for more torrents with this title" in the menu, which could also branch into other menu-options like "Search for more torrents for this anime" which would use the anime title instead of just the title.
But perhaps this could wait a bit longer until you start working on column customization on the Torrents tab ;)

And a while ago you were asking for more stuff to add to the double/middle click menus and I think the options to search for torrents through them would be nice (preferably through the custom RSS feed), was kinda hoping the option to directly open the entry in the browser made it into this update too.

Try replacing your Taiga/data/media.xml with this one, restart Taiga and see if it works. MPDN doesn't seem to have a friendly window class name for Taiga to detect, so I had to use a possibly unreliable workaround.

Just so you know i tested it out on a file, and it successfully recognized the episode.

Edit:
By the way, i used the portable version. I don't know if it would make a difference using the installer version.

You can use tags for that, also, in case you didn't know, you can search for tags on the search bar in the corner, so if you have a "Waiting for BD release" tag you can search for that and the shows tagged will show up.

I don't really like the progress bars that track aired episode count since they seem to be inaccurate more often than not. Tried to find what I'd missed in the last 3 days and half the stuff had no indication of having an unseen episode in my list, so it's more of a pointless distraction than a useful feature, as much as I like the idea.

Would it be possible to add a sort by MAL rating/ MAL rating column? I have quite a lot of anime on my list to watch, and while I do disagree with MAL ratings some times, it would be nice to have an easily visible average rating along side your own rather than having to open up the anime info. (Yes, its one extra step :P)

If the auto updater can't recognize an anime you will have to choose the one it is, but if you miss click on the wrong one you can't change it afterwards. Please have some way so you can actually fix it, since it is a real pain when that happens :-/

All that does is add that title as an alternative title, you can change that yourself.

How? And why not have a simple option to go back and re pick.

Edit: Found out how to do it, but this is way to complicated, since it require to have quite a deep understanding of how Taiga works. How are people suppose to know, it creates an alternative name for the show. I only found it because I accidentally saw the field, when trying to figure out how to fix it. It was really cumbersome to fix, since I had deleted the show, so to actually fix it I needed to first add it to my list again, and then remove the alternative tittle (I first added the alternative tittle to the actual anime, but that just confused Taiga even more, since it complained every episode).

Delete the alternative title and restart Taiga and it should allow you to repick, either way, you can just add the title yourself, it's not hard.
By the way, you do that by right-clicking on a entry and selecting Edit.

Just pointed out how difficult it is to figure out, and how it could easily be solved just to have a delete/redo button in the now playing window. There wasn't anything about it in the FAQ, and I got zero answer googling for it. It is just really unintuitive, and require knowledge that is hard to have.

Or said another way, yeah it is easy to fix when you know how, but that is the case for pretty much everything, but when it is difficult to figure out how to do it, then there is an issue. I didn't help in any way that under alternative tittle there is fansub, where there is actually used change, that makes sense, but the information provided for alternative tittle talks about torrents instead of files, and mentioned nothing about "change", which would have helped indicate it. That information was what caused me to look elsewhere when I first saw it.

auto download the list every (x) min?
using Taiga in different PCs and struggling...
if might be "feature" to sync available episodes or taiga it self between PCs in same local network. So, Taiga detect Taiga in local network. thought about using cloud auto sync service, like dropbox.. but i didn't try it, yet. don't think that taiga is loading the data every secs so i'll need to close and open again..
though, I'm had added the directories as network drives (solved the available eps but still the list, history, etc)... but well it'll be badass to taiga to have it :v

edit: I watched "half" of EP.1 on PC1 and forget to close it then completed EP.1 and EP.2 of same title on PC2... after that closed the player on PC1 (my current setting: count down to 120 sec, wait for player to close then update). the result: watched EP.1 only < title was on PTW list with 0 EP

The sidebar shouldn't appear that way, since Taiga uses a system color rather than a constant one as its background. There might be an issue with your Windows theme. If you can send it to me, I'll take a look.

Progress bar colors can be changed via Taiga/data/theme/*/Theme.xml. If you're going to do this, create a copy of the Default theme rather than modifying it directly. You can try Eagleshadow's theme if you don't want to set the colors yourself. Active theme can be changed via Settings → Advanced.

The Sidebar is completely black now, I just had to restart my pc twice. It works as intended now. Ty for that dark progress bar theme btw, it really helps. I really don't like white... (Thank you too, Eagleshadow, for making that theme.)

There's no plus key on the left side. You get that with Shift+= on a keyboard with English layout, but other layouts have it on different keys (Shift+4, for instance).

It'd be okay to also make it so it activates with CTRL+= then, no?
I forgot about the layout detail, my keyboard has the + somewhere else and I don't need to use Shift to use it, but I think my + key is considered the same as = + key.

Is it possible to make a "Prefer filter" have priority over another "Prefer filter"? For example, I want it to "prefer 1080p", but if there's no 1080p then it should "prefer 720p". Right now, If I place it on the same rule, both 720p and 1080p are selected. If I have them as two separate rules, it always selects 720p for some reason, no matter the order of the rules in the list.

@Paulo27
I looked into this a bit, and it seems that Windows is able to handle VK_OEM_PLUS and VK_OEM_MINUS keys on different layouts. That said, if this breaks something for another user, it's on you! :p

@LordGravewish
For now, I kinda stopped working on the current torrent filter system. While it's quite powerful, the mental load it creates is overwhelming, and there are a couple of things that it cannot do without me adding in even more complexity. I'm planning to rewrite the whole thing and introduce a simpler alternative, preferably without losing the current customizability. May happen in v1.4.

@helium9100
Do you have any suggestions? I'm afraid custom hotkeys aren't going to happen soon, but I can always add some sensible defaults.

@awesomeguy6678
MAL's API doesn't have that, so it's not possible for Taiga to get it automatically. But, I'm currently working on something that makes pushing new seasons to Taiga much easier for me than before, so at least there's that. This is going to be in v1.2.3.

Might be a small stupid idea, but it was something I thought about just now.

The sorting is great of the episodes, but would it be possible to save the sort by what tab I'm watching?

When I'm watching the Currently Watching tab, I always sort by Episodes viewed. ALWAYS! But sorting by that in other tabs, such as completed is rather annoying. I always tend to switch to alpabetical or season sorting when I'm finding the anime in that tab, and when I go back to my Currently Watching I switch back to the episode sorting.

While it's just a like 3-4 clicks I have to do, and I don't really have the right to complain about it. I was just wondering if it's a easy change or not.

Sorry for taking your time. Thanks for bringing me one of the best programs there is out there! (I'm a big time TV watcher aswell, there is nothing even close to this good out there)

No, I would like to rename things in the list with the name change being displayed in the actual list. For example to show "Blood Blockade Battlefront" instead of "Kekkai Sensen" in the let's say currently watching list. That's what MalUpdater's "override name" option does.
