Bleach sucked me in from the first moment. After you watch an episode you're thinking about it for the rest of the day.

Hayate no Gotoku had me from the first two lines.
Hayate: "Santa, why don't you give me any presents?"
Santa: "Because your family is poor."

HAHAH i love that hayate no gotoku is hilarous but sometimes i don't get it...because of the words with beeps.

The whole first episode of Hayate no Gotoku was something that had me hooked. Maybe it was the fact that the episode contained large amounts of social commentary that is so rare in anything.

The first seven minutes of the Super Gals dub got me hooked instantly. I thought it was going to be this stupid superficial show about shopping and dressing up. Boy was I wrong. Not to mention that 4 out of the 6 mighty curse words were used within a 7 minute time span kind of helped. :P

If we got 80% or higher let me know! :)

I don't know if there's a reverse of this topic, so I'll post it here.

The first episode of Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya turned me off so badly that I stopped watching about halfway through it...

I didn't go back to watch the entire series for a year because of that, and even then only because several people convinced me that the rest of the series wasn't like the first episode.

Higurashi, Code Geass, and Akagi all come to mind.

Agreed. Haven't watched Akagi, but the first 2 definitely. Would also add Bokurano to that list.

Death Note and Code Geass both grabbed me in from the start. Too bad I later found the rest of Death Note mostly "meh", minus the last two episodes.
