Manga is much much cheaper in Japan than anime, so you'd expect a larger proportion of school-aged fans being able to afford to buy those rather than one volume of an anime. Just check Amazon JP, and you should be able to see what the price is for a manga volume (which includes the 8% sales tax already). |
