KANJI said: What's so annoying about him? Is he annoying because he has a desire to prove himself and wants to be viewed as an equal and as not someone who is being looked down on? Any one who grows up with problems wants to prove their worth. Naruto never really got any talent or friends because everyone viewed him as an outsider, thanks to their parents. Since he had the Demon Fox spirit inside him they didn't want anyone talking to him. Most people don't like the story because of one character? That's pretty shallow. It's unique, and uses ideas that no one has ever seen before. I think it's great! Wow you must be close minded if you think the idea of a boy trying to prove himself is an idea unique only to Naruto. The only unique idea in Naruto is that Naruto is a white kid surrounded by a bunch of Japanese kids in an anime. KANJI said: Naruto has been getting talents. The ability to use Rasengan is a feat in itself. You want unique ideas? I think the use of jutsus by hand-seals and the explination of Chakra is good enough to be called unique. Ninjas in clans with their symbols on fore-head protectors is also cool. Maybe it bores you, but everyone has something that they dig. Naruto isn't exactly about resolution it's the development and journey of a bunch of friends. Naruto has so many arcs and side stories because there are many characters, so the creator gives the viewers a bit of information about everyone. People don't die because Naruto isn't about death. Someone doesn't have to pass on to make something interesting. What do you mean by "never ending Shonen crap"? The Rasengan is Naruto's version of Shining Finger or Hadouken. Just about every "Super power" type fighting show has its own Hadouken. Naruto has plenty of "borrowed" material, even down to frame by frame movements being exact. Development? Journey? a bunch of friends? oh shit son its Pokemon and Digimon! I thought you were trying to describe Naruto not Digimon. Actually it shows the creators care about what their fans think rather than making an interesting plot, such as if Kakashi died, their would be a huge "OH NOES KAKASHI DIED I'M GONNA GO LISTEN TO LINKIN PARK NOW!" feedback, thus they would bring Kakashi back to life. See major characters being killed off does create interesting plot, hello Transformers ring a bell? They KILLED OFF OPTIMUS PRIME, IRONHIDE, RATCHET, and PROWL, in the movie, all of which major characters that were there from the start and many fan favorites. And most of them died pretty easily too. (Sure Prime was brought back only because Rodimus ran their organization right into the fucking ground). Never ending Shounen Crap: Think when DBZ first aired, or maybe Ranma 1/2 if it was a bit more Shounen esque. |

Development? Journey? a bunch of friends? oh shit son its Pokemon and Digimon! I thought you were trying to describe Naruto not Digimon. ...PLENTY of shows are focused on journey and friendship, not just Digimon and Pokemon. Naruto IS indeed focused on these especially with his obsession to try and get Sasuke back and help out people. What is the problem with anything focused on frienship and development? Actually it shows the creators care about what their fans think rather than making an interesting plot, such as if Kakashi died, their would be a huge "OH NOES KAKASHI DIED I'M GONNA GO LISTEN TO LINKIN PARK NOW!" feedback, thus they would bring Kakashi back to life. If the author doesn't want to kill off certain characters they have the right not too. Besides, a good few characters HAVE died in the series. Maybe not any of the MAJOR ones but definately some that had (and still have) plenty of fans. And some of us don't really care what happened in transformers. If something happens in one show it doesn't mean it should happen in another just because you said so. Character deaths make an interesting plot? Not always. It's a matter of personal taste and I personally don't care. You were talking about close minded? Kid, you sound pretty close minded to me with that post. That Linkin Park comment? Please don't use such prejudice. |

FILLER! Filler filler filler, irritating voice actors, constantly recycled/looped animation, filler, naurto fns why typ lyk dis!!!11!!eleven, filler, overused plot devices, Mary Sue/Gary Stu characters, filler, and my brother. Seriously. If your brother ran around screaming "RASEKUGAN" or whatever the frig it's called and jabbing you in the back in a mall, you'd drop the series pretty quick, too. Oh. Did I mention filler? |

No I simply stated how character deaths could make plots interesting, you assumed otherwise. How am I close minded? How am I being prejudice? because I used the "I'm gonna go listen to Linkin Park" meme? kid needs to lurk moar. Sounds to me the only reason you are defending Kanji is because you assumed that I assumed all Narutards are emo's that listen to Linkin Park (although most of them are), therefor you felt insulted because of your undying love for Naruto yet you did not understand that it is a meme. So you were the real person that assumed, thus making YOU the prejudice one. Now go back to reading your new issue of Shounen Jump you bought a few days a go, run along now. :D |

There is no point in throwing around little insults. I'm not emo, nor is anyone I know who enjoys Naruto. This is about why you don't like the show, so don't bring up people's character traits. This has nothing to do with it. I didn't post back because I see no idea to continue talking about something that is useless. You hate Naruto, I like it. No one cares what anyone really has to say because we all feel the same thing. So there is no point in continuing. I don't know why I posted here in the first place. I guess I didn't think people were giving it a fear shake. But heck, it's their loss. |

Or did you just skim it and read only select parts? Many a Narutard are emo's that listen to Linkin Park (explain why there are Over 9000 Naruto Linkin Park, or just plain emo songs, AMV's on youtube and the internet), that is why I said most narutards are like that, not all. Did I say I hate Naruto? No I didn't, do I think its great? nop I think its just Average, 5/10, C-, 3/5. Everyone has different thoughts on the topic, there would be no discussion if everyone had the same thoughts, yup you are closeminded. Look who’s assuming things now? I do not read Shounen Jump at all nor do I have an “undying love” for Naruto. I just really enjoy the series and have a strong dislike for people who purposefully insult others and say something sucks simply because they don’t like it all that much without any consideration for the people that really enjoy it. I also dislike the use of social stereotypes. The character death point; I acknowledge that you were just giving your opinion but it was the way you worded it that I guess I must have taken the wrong way. Even so I don’t think the author cares too much about what fans think and continues Naruto how he wants. In terms of the anime, however, you may be right. I wouldn’t know though since I haven’t exactly met those that work on the anime :/ Look, I suggest we leave it at that since it’s steering off topic a bit and we don’t need more drama. Though with a topic like this it's inevitable. Especially one that concerns Naruto. (It's sad I can't enjoy the fandom as well). |

Yea it's ironic that a manga called "Naruto" supposedly based around a character named Naruto, is actually not about Naruto. It's about Sasuke and |-|1Z B@D@ZZ3RY. The fights, thankfully, are short but thats only because the fights consist of: Ninja A: IMMA USE NEW SECRET TECHNIQUE Ninja B: NO IMMA USE A MORE SECRETER TEKNIK Ninja A: As if that would affect me, because I HAVE A NEWEREST SECRETEREST ULTIMATE TECHNIQUE! HAHAHAHA! Ninja B dies Ninja A meets Ninja C Ninja A: NEWEREST SECRETEST ULTIMATE TECHNIQUE! Ninja C: As if that would work, its been 10 chapters since your last fight and now all techniques that were previously way-overpowerd God out of the machine level, don't physically harm anyone whatsoever. Yeah Naruto sure has some great action. Oh and who could forget the adding of elements to jutsu, which was NEVER MENTIONED BEFORE, EVER. But apparently its basic knowledge all ninja should use. Nice way to pull that out of your ass Kishimoto. |

naruto used to be good, it stil is ok but not ok enough for me to watch. one thing about it now is that they waste to much time. example ep 40-41, we got 2 episode about 1 hr i think, not sure, and what happen in those 2 episode, about 3 things which im not going to say since some people may not of seen it yet. its progressing to slow, and it seems like the animators are getting lazy. the animation looks like flash animation. honestly i was waiting on ep 40, i wanted to see how it was going to be done but in my opinion the animators messed up, its stil good but compaired to other naruto fight scenes it wasnt up to my standards. since naruto stared with some of the best fight scenes i ever seen, |

The ONLY thing that makes me even remotely dislike Naruto is it is so popular. i get people all the time who hate anime but love naruto and they don't feel bothered at all about giving spoilers. I get agravated at some of the fans more then the anime. Here again, Love the anime but dislike some of the fans it has attracted. Also the voice overs could have been better. x.x; |

There are many well thought out and intelligent reasons why people don't like Naruto. Mine isn't one of them. I just think Naruto's an asshole and I'm not wasting my time wading through 200+ episodes watching some asshole because he might grow on me. I know it's incredibly shallow but then so am I. =p |

No, ninjas are definitely NOT the problem. I'm still waiting for a ninja version of an anime as intense as Black Lagoon or something. I guess there was that one episode of Samurai Champloo... but it was only one episode. |

shippuden is shit right now, but you hafta consider that all the artists are on strike, and these were probably episodes they drew while extremely angry, since the first few episodes of shippuden impressed me. but they should really do something about it, since recently, the amount covered has gone from one chapter per episode to almost one page per episode |

Like I mentioned in my earlier post, the fights in the manga aren't that good. I haven't even watched the anime since half way through the fillers(and I dont know why I bothered with it at all after the zabuza arc.) Y'know how in DBZ before each fight they would basically "power up" then fight with one clear winner, then the loser would "power up" half way through and win? Well in the Naruto Manga, this exact same thing happens. Except they don't scream to power up, power ups occur instantly when the character says "ha! I was going easy, now Ill use this secret advanced technique I just pulled out of my ass!" and they don't just happen once before the battle and once half way through. They occur every 2 pages or so. It's extremely hard not to get agitated by how Kishimoto does fights. |

People are starting to hate Naruto because it's starting to draw the episodes out for longer than everyone's attention span can hold. If I notice that they are switching around still-frames of every damn character for way too long in almost every episode(that consists of fighting) and adding in more scenes than what's in the manga, you know they're just trying to get the most money out of Naruto as they can. |

*Sigh~* Fillers, Obnoxious Characters, Constant Talking, Slow Progressing, not much fighting get's thrown in due to talking.... Those are my reasons. That's why I dropped it. It's also very overrtated. I don't see why people are thinking: "OMG! Naruto rules!". I don't see why it is as popular as it is. |

I loooove Naruto. :D From reading (half) of this thread most people say they fillers killed the show. Yeah I know fillers suck but just skip it. You won't be missing anything AT ALL regardless of people saying "oh but you'll be missing the feel of the show". When fillers started I took a huge hiatus from Naruto and watched other anime at the time and the manga (which is 100000 times better). A flaw I have to say about Shippuuden is the constant flashbacks. Everytime it happens I say "HMM WHAT'S IN THE KITCHEN???" and wander off til it's over hehe. Even if it's one of my favorites, I certainly won't call it the best thing ever made. Death Note on the other hand...:D |

i don't know why anyone can say anything about an anime that they hate, because if i hated an anime, i wouldn't watch, and therefore not know enough to trash it, all of these people have watched it, and have come across something better, but that doesn't mean Naruto is a bad show, maybe for a younger audience, but enjoyable nonetheless, and hate is such a strong word, it's a word that Hitler used to say how he felt about Jewish people, you don't want to be like Hitler, do you...? and people need to stop comparing Death Note and Naruto two completely different genres |
