Ah I didn't expect to see their third outfit until much later, seeing how it wasn't that long ago that it appeared in the manga. The Millennium Earl looks bad ass now =O

It was a great series, sad to see it end. I would love for a second season, but it doesn't seem likely. Could anyone tell me which chapter in the manga this episode is equivalent to?

I liked the episode, I thought it was really good, but is it really the end? Why would they show the new uniforms and the noah's in the way they did if it really was the end. I hope they contunie the series.

Luckily I read the DGM manga, so this episode was easy to understand. If you haven't read the manga prior to watching this episode, you would not really get some parts.
It's also quite apparent that they rushed the ending, beause the pace of the episode felt sorta misplaced and out of synch as well. I' am huppy that they showed the newest Exsorcist suit animated too, and that we got to see Lenaly in long hair once again in the anime.
I do hope that they produce more DGM episodes in the future, because this anime was really epic to watch and it's one of my favorite anime that I'd seen.
And thus I rate this last DGM episode at 5/5.

Many questions and few answers. End of Anime but not end of history. Similar situation occurred with InuYasha. But without doubt was a great episode for an excellent anime. Cross Ruler! :p
It will have another season? Nobody knows!
But the Mangá continues! ^^

I liked the episode itself. ..I just don't like it as a last episode. It leaves no closure whatsoever! The episode ended with me giving my monitor the finger and muttering words that should not be repeated.... -_-

I'm happy with the way they ended it but I still can't believe they chose Bleach over D Gray man. After keeping up to date with Bleach manga I can safely say the show is only gonna get more worse. The fillers right now are more entertaining then the manga which is a bad sign. O well, nothing we can do I guess.

I felt like D.Gray-man could have done a lot better. Even though there were some parts I really enjoyed, it felt like the story derailed somehow. In the beginning when corpses were turned into Akuma and people who were slightly injured by them turned to ash; set a very nice tone to the series but, it was ruined when zillions of Akuma just started coming out of nowhere. Also didn't like when the power difference between a Level-1 & Level-3 Akuma became insignificant lol

Anyway I still enjoyed the series, 7/10, but I'm also glad they decided to end it here, I think I'll continue reading the manga beyond the first chapter now^^,

It was the usual "go read the manga" ED. I just don't see how sticking closely to manga scenes AND making it look like the ending can be considered a hardcore fail.

I loved everyone in their new uniform, but the ending was just crap. Yes, I do know what's going on because I'm 'sort of' following the manga, but for the people who never read the manga this must have been a huge WTF moment. :/ Why Japan gave this show low ratings is a big ? to me. They must enjoy watching crappy-ass shows like Naruto (no offense for the people who do like Naruto, I just think it's WAY too overrated).

definitely rushed ending but very good regardless. i really liked that last scene with allen in the desert looking upon a shadowy figure of the earl.

that "fin" at the end most likely means that this series is sadly going to end like that..
especially since there were no previews or spoilers hinting for a season 2.. in example:
"Can't wait to see you in season 2"/etc or something cornier. atleast we still have the manga!

I would classify D.Gray-Man under a category close to Naruto. The fillers were killer, the characters are horrid, some parts were out of order, and the episodes just moved slow. So yes, I can see why Japan would give it such low ratings.

i loved the series as i want the soundtrack, but dont know where to get it as i really want it ......but beside that the ending was kinda weird to me as i understand it since i read the manga but to end like that is kinda disappointing
i thought it would just continue like naruto or bleach, but it didnt so i guess they didnt want filler ep that makes people mad........it was sad though that people died and the strive..........oh wellz with that.....hope they make a new season since this is such a good series and the characters and plot i like so well.........pplz let there be another season

Guess it wasn't popular enough to keep it running. You don't have to expect a second season cause then they would've had just made mass fillers to milk this series some more. It only joined the list of animes / mangas that they altered to make it end.

I think people are looking way to much into the Fin business. I mean just because it appeared at the end of episode 103 doesn't mean we won't see another series in the future.

Three facts:
1. Shonen series NEVER do the breaks longer than two weeks. Its suicide as viewers mostly "forget" what the show was about. None of the shonen shows being at similar timeslots came back after "ending the broadcast".
2. Ratings are not that good. Going on the break would deliver a huge blow to the ratings when show comes back, so tv stations would not wish to blow up their own economies by bringing such show back on air.
3. None of the shows, who changed seasons would get FIN written in the end. NONE. FIN mostly means complete stop and is one of the more "hardcore" ways of implying its THE END.

production studio had no choice. Either they go on into filler season and ratings go on dropping yet again, till the show gets canceled OR they end the broadcast, which would be the same as getting canceled, except that they end the story with manga plot. Add up TV station pushing the bleach in D.gray-man timeslot and you have got a limited time/number of episodes to conclude the story.

Same happened with Inuyasha years ago. And now, even with the manga ended, production studio shows no signs on wanting to "go on air again"

Future looks REALLY bad for D.gray-man. I am wishing for some sort of OVA adaptation of next arcs, but even that is at quite small possibility...

NOoooo!! Wasn't expecting this at all!! Whyyyyyy!! Darn it!! Guess this is it for D grayman.. Sob.. Why couldn't they do a filler arc just like bleach did?!

I have mixed feelings about this. While I'm sad because it has ended, I'm relieved that they didn't decide to make fillers. Well, someone did notice how fillers affected Naruto and Bleach.

Auch, that hurts. I will never place D.Gray-man under the same category as Naruto. And the characters are everything but horrid, why the hell did you even bother to finish it if you have so many complaints? :/

Well, since the anime ended abruptly, the best is to follow the manga now. And, at least D Gray Man didn't have as much and worse fillers as naruto.

I was sure they would do a second (third) season.
But my hope faded when I saw "Fin" at the end...

But still, I hope D.Gray-man will become more popular and they will do another season. Fullmetal Alchemist, whose story was completely changed in the animation, will get a second season (or should I say remake?).

Has anyone googled ((or anything of the sort)) to see if it's truly over? I'm determined to find out from the actual production studio or whatever, but if it is I'll just have to stick to the manga. I'm pretty upset that Bleach is filling in DGM's spot. The fillers for Bleach are a true kill boob. >.>...

Overall though the episode was bittersweet, I must know more about Allen and the whole 14th thing though. Along with the Earls human form, eww just think if he was some hot guy and then switch over to some fat rabbit looking thing. T-T.. So sad.

Considering that the anime had to end, I think this last episode was great. They included some important parts from further chapters of the manga, and at least tried to make it seem like an ending. And even though the animation has been surprisingly good for such a long running series, it was even better than usual in this episode.

RaitoTheReaper said:

D.Gray-man is classified as shounen and is filled with many of the typical shounen elements, but is still more original than most series. And if you can see why Japan would give D.Gray-man such low ratings, then explain why Naruto and Bleach are rated so highly? After all, ratings are measured by the number of viewers a show has. So it's clear that the anime version of D.Gray-man just isn't popular enough, while a plotless show like Bleach obviously is.

Though, I’m glad there will be no more fillers. And if the manga continues to do well, we might even get a sequel! In a decade or two...

...Woah.
It felt weird finally watching "the last episode". :O

It saddens me greatly. No more Kenichi Suzumura as Lavi. At least I still have him as Hikaru.

Great episode, they skipped some stuff from the manga. I'm still hopeful that they'll start up the show someday again, though. They brought in the fact that Allen was the 14th, the New Noah, officially started up the war with the Earl. They can't just leave it there, can they? fghfkjghdfkghfgh. Thank God for the manga, or my head would be exploding right now.

At the very least, the anime didn't just END for the most part. Although it left quite a few holes, at least it still tried to give off a sort of loose, hopeful, end. I still hope it comes back. :D

Also: Yay, we got to see Lenalee's new outfit and haircut in that little epilogue thing! Also, there was Lavi with his hair down in this episode. (They are both so cuteee! <333)

It is nice to see the lv.4 being defeated and everyone is fine.Allen is really awesome!!

Great way to end it.

I have no doubt that D.Gray-Man will continue in some form in the future. I feel like DGM has always been a special case in the way that its been happened, so my view on its future is quite optimistic (the show was originally intended to be around 50 eps no?). And if this is the end, I thank the gods that DGM didn't get dragged into the mud with 40 eps of filler bs.

I really hope there will be a sequel.. The serie itself was great and entertaining, but the end made me feel as nothing actually happened. The errands between Millenium Earl and the Order are still unfinished. I quess the answer lies in the manga, but I'll rather wait for the anime(if there will be one).

I wasn't sure I'd like it seeing as it's not really an ending but it's an ending anyway :/ but I was pleasantly surprised (despite the fact that they did a Fullmetal Alchemist on us - a ball? why the fuck a ball?!? xD)

but yes, it feels like part one of a trilogy, like the ending of Fellowship of the Rings xD and I'd prefer them to split it like they're doing (or even to just cut it off there if for some reason they decide not to continue once the manga-ka's gotten a little further) than to do filler episodes like Bleach ¬¬

Anyways, all is well: the generals weren't deaded, just a little late showing up "=_=; Lenalee is no longer innocence-less and depressed and instead is growing her hair back out so they can start next season (please make it, please!!!) with her long hair back; Allen is not dying - which makes a change let's face it xD; Kanda is still huffy and the Millenium Earl is still freakin' creepy xD

ah... till next we see D. Gray-Man (will just have to rewatch if they don't decide to make a second season xD)

Fin
