Ok - so I'm just curious - does anyone have any unusual or quirky anime watching or anime related habbits?

I have a few which to me seem a little odd:

1. 99% of the time I will skip the intro and outro music

2. I resolutely avoid the names of Voice Actors: I worry I'll recognise their voices and start associating them with some other character they've played

3. If I really like a show - I can't watch it week by week - I have to wait then cram it in as fast as possible.

4. I love listening to anime OSTs - but cannot listen to certain tracks (e.g. the whole of the Clannad soundtrack) as it immediately puts me back into the mindframe of that specific anime (and Clannad After Series is not exactly the healthiest mindset to be in)

5. I occasionally have weird dreams about anime characters

6. I save manga scans I like in a big folder (then never look at them again)

SO yeah. Does anyone do anything similar, or have their own unique way of watching anime or reading manga? ^^ Comment below!

I share a few of your habits, consistently skip intro/outro, anime is supposed to be watched in as much of a unbroken timespace as possible and also i save alot of scans only to find them months later.

Guess i have to add a few new ones to then. I´m using some animerelated phrases when i get stressed out at work, really strange ones at that (A rainbow for YOU!).
The best driving music is anime related (Gets me alot of strange looks when friends travels with me).
Oh and i have to watch anime at home, watching it somewhere else and it just doesn´t feel right.

PS I got a job where i´m sitting alone for a big portion of the workday.

I always watch anime with my headphones in even if my roommate is not in the room.

Also, if I watch something in the morning and then go to class I spend the entire day only thinking about that show's opening or ending music.

I always skip the OP and ED, especially the ED.

After completing an anime or a manga and rating it, I tend to keep thinking of its low points so that I can drop my rating (esp if I rated something highly).

I always save anime/manga pictures but most of them haven't been used as my desktop background.

For some shows I watch the RAW before the subs are out even though I don't speak Japanese.

I sometimes take screen shots from Anime if I think it'd look funny, or cute.

When I'm out walking and listening to music, sometimes I think up an AMV in my head, I do the same with games too.

I'm the same about watching it at home - tho I've seen a couple of films at the cinema and they were ok.

Lol bout the music - I've had my ipod hooked up to speakers on shuffle mode a couple of times when an anime/game track comes on. There's really no explaining away some of the weirder tracks I have on there *sighs*

One thing I do note of my watching habit is that I tend to make a rough translation of whatever they're saying there in my head, evenif I watch with subs. So I often spot mistranslations if any appears.

Also, I often skip OP and ED, if the song doesn't really interest me. But if I like the song, then I won't skip it.

I have a thing about endings, I sometimes watch the ending first to avoid setting myself up for disappointment from watching the whole anime and then hating the ending.

I share the first four of your habits, especially at making the effort in keeping CLANNAD OPs/EDs and soundtracks away. Gaah..Nagisa~

I tend to recognise voices in charcters...

I feel the need to learn the Japanese lyrics to the open/end songs.

When reading a manga, if the scene is really intense, I'll throw the book then pick it back up and continue reading like a maniac... but really, that's with any book.

I'll stop watching an anime for a while if it makes me mad. i.e. Code Geass. That show and I have a love/hate relationship...

After watching a great anime, I tend to name my friends after the characters they're most like.

There are more, I just can't think of any right now.

I have some of myself too XD

1. I always skip the Opening and Endings theme
2. I daydream about situations from an anime sometimes, only with me as the hero (Instead of Ichigo from Bleach, I defeat a strong villain in Shinigami form :"D)
3. I feel depressed after something depressed happened to my favorite character
4. I cry when my favorite character dies/gets hurt
5. Sometimes i need to take a pause from a series i like, because else i will get dragged in to much
6. I can only read manga as a book. I hate reading online and i just can't get myself to read online, even though i always want to know what happens next when i finished my volume.

1. No matter how many times I've seen them, I almost always watch the OP and ED theme
2. I avoid preview for the next episode like the plague
3. I will immediately stop the show, extract the subtitles, edit them, and remux the file if I see a typo in the fansubs
4. I often download and archive multiple fansubs of a show, if I'm not sure which is better
5. I avoid older shows on principle because I don't want to see outdated animation
