Hello everyone, this is my first post!!
Last EXILE is my favourite anime, I loved it to every bits and pieces, despite it having a GONZO trait, which is "it could've been better".
I don't think it's overrated, if you can just appreciate its attention to details to such machines appeared in the anime, you can't help but to think how in the world can man (in the anime) made it possible. EXILE, Silverna, Urbanus, Hurricane Hawk, Fat Chicken, Sunny Boy, they're all absolutely amazing to me. They're what you call a machine with "soul". They're built with a unique character and such engineering feat to make them feel special and to outwit the rest, rather than built just to get you from A to B. Even each vanship is personalised with a unique figurehead!! You surely don't get to see much of these kind of things today, which is a sad thing. People (especially American, Japanese, Korean, Malaysian and now the Chinese) today just build cars to get you from A to B, they just build it with no soul, and no passion, rather than to excite drivers, or to be admired as the most beautiful of them all. Sorry guys, I am a petrolhead, and I just don't enjoy seeing these half-heartedly built cars on the road for the sake of making money. So when I get to see these incredible machines, it touched me so much that it made my eyes water. Honestly!!
Star Wars? Hm....I can only think of it when there was once when Tatiana ended her briefing to fight Urbanus with "May The Wind be with you", lol. Bt for the rest of the time.....now that you've mentioned it, a bit, but not really without light saber, lol. Alex Row though, felt a bit like Darth Vader, lost some precious to him, always appear unemotional... and the black cloak. He may not wear a mask, but his hair made it seem like it's similar to Darth Vader, from the back, that is.
As I said earlier, "it could've been better" with more interesting characters, and somehow, you get a sense that the animes' confused on who should get more screentime, I mean, Tatiana gets a whole episode to tell about her life, but then, she just fades away in the end, having no particular important role.
But hey, thumbs up for:
- Brilliant animation quality, the 3D addition just makes the anime more realistic
- Brilliant machines, they're incredible, they're extra-ordinary, and I loved them.
- Brilliant soundtrack, I just love to listen to them to relax, makes me feel like I'm in Europe in the olden days, when men used to make machines with pride and pure love, rather than just to be a billionaire.
- Excellent setup, in a retro-Victorian style and surrounding. Very, very detailed too, and if really pay close attention to the finer details, you'll appreciate them and felt inspired.
For that, it gets 10/10 for me. |
