It does happen when you don't watch anime for a while. Like when during school I didn't have time for anime. Now it's summer I have time for anime in the morning and after 12 at night xD but now I've finished watching the animes I enjoyed, idk what to watch or keep watching..

Just stop watching for a week or two, no point in forcing yourself to watch anime...

I think the only reason i ever got into anime in the first place was out of boredom. If i have better things to do i dont normally watch anime, but i still like it.

This.

Unless part of your work is watching them for anime magazines. Although you are paid to watch it'll get tiresome if you keep on watching the titles you don't even like just for the sake of reviewing it.

Unfortunately, I think I'm going through the same thing as of recently.

I used to watch about a lot more than I'm watching now, who knows maybe I'll stop one day.

I get tired every time after watching a few series, then quit for a few months. Sometimes more than half a year. I'm so softcore.

YES - I'm in that state atm. I only watch the new episodes of Naruto. Yesterday I watched the first episode of Aria the Origination (or was is Animation? First series...).
Currently waiting for Hellsing Ultimate 8.

I mean, I'm having a hard time getting caught up in a show. I've reached the 10th episode of Code Geass, but it just doesn't seem that interesting. Nothing really seems to get a grasp on me :-/

I started watching some anime again today. I've been grinding my way through Cowboy Bebop. I thought Cowboy Bebop was supposed to be really good.

happening right now. i used to watch whatever sounded interesting and stuck with it. but now i have discriminating tastes and it limits me on the series i watch. finding a quality series to watch that's worth all the time investment probably takes as long as finishing a series sometimes for me, which has sometimes discouraged me. also i like to watch after its finished so i could watch in a marathon. plus, i only like anime that's pretty top notch but few ppl know about, sort of makes me feel like i've found a rare gem for myself.

For some reason, after I got out of Navy Boot Camp and started my tech school, I lost all interest. I mean, I had a huge list I needed to finish, I needed to catch up on a lot of manga and a lot of anime... But I now have no interest in watcihng anything... At all. Ive been out of boot camp for 5 months now... And I have watched... Just the rest of Nodame Cantabile Finale... thats it. Ive been reading Zombie Loan....

I dont look new things up

I dont download anything or stream

I dont want to.

I have lost all interest and I dunno if Ill get it back...

Im more interested in Taiwanese Drama's anyway. :)

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you guys. For about a month at a time I will watch a crap load of anime and then stop for months and do it all over again. Yet I play video games all the time and never really stop doing that besides taking a little break to do school work.

Not really. I know I'll never stop watching, since I pretty much grew up with anime.

Though there are definitely times when I don't want to watch anime at all. At this point I can only remember two reasons:
1. I don't want to watch anything. At all.
2. It's been a long week, and the last thing I wanna do is read subtitles, so give me some sitcoms or a show I can understand even while closing my eyes.

Yes. I stopped watching for almost four years.

Then, when I started watching again, I marathoned probably a dozen series in the first month...

Yeah it happened to me before. I take like 2-3 years break, yeah it was long, and I was completely into movies/dramas etc. But when I found Gakuen Alice while I was surfing in the internet like in 2008 I think? and I was obsessed with animes again. I'm glad that it happened.

Anime, movies, TV, books, video games, internet... they are all their for our leisure time, but it's perfectly normal to just... break. After all, it's just entertainment, and if it doesn't feel like we'd be entertained... why would we do it?

I usually watch a lot of anime during the summer since thats the period I really have nothing to do but work. When College started for me and part time working I guess I had more worries about that and couldn't focus on anime much. I get in the mood again during holiday breaks...

Quite a few times actually but it was more of laziness than anything else. Even if I did stop watching Anime I'd still like it. it's just something I can NEVER let go of. There are some times where I don't watch it for a few months but I never stop for good and I never seem to lose interest.

Its never about getting tired of watching anime for me, its mostly about not being able to sit down for a long period of time.

Either that or just being overwhelmed with the number of animes i plan to watch and therefor not able to choose, those times i usually rewatch something.

I once stopped watching for like half a year I think, naturally. It's not like I decided for it to be but it just happened like that. I think it was because Rurouni Kenshin's so long winded, I got bored watching it. Plus that time I was attracted by other series like Lost, Desperate Housewives and all so yeah.

After some time I thought at least let me finish Rurouni Kenshin, and I did and now I'm normal again. And Rurouni Kenshin's not such a bad anime after all.

It happens with almost all forms of entertainment. I used to game hardcore, these days I barely touch them. You get in those moods where you cant be bothered doing something (ie. watching movies/tv/anime/games) etc. and end up taking a "Break", whether its only temporarily or its permanent. Entertainment is there to... entertain. if it is not doing so, don't do it.
Will you be able to do.... what must be done?

I've had to go a couple weeks with no anime and I always really want to get back to it and watch to my heart's content. So I don't think I can get bored of anime. Besides, those couple of weeks really sucked because I was outside with no showering and no sleeping and little food.

But I always returned to it. Lately, I'm actually in quite the 'hyper watching' mood now. :D
