The piano without a doubt. I love listening to it and would love just as much knowing how to play it. :]

Wouldn't technical mastery of an instrument mean you cannot improve any further? Except for phrasing, interpretation, tempo, etc, obviously.

I'd rather be a beginner all my life and keep learning new things... (with the classical guitar).

PIano of course, it's always been my favorite instrument.

Think of it this way: since you are a master one of one, you can try to master another. It's just like learning programming language or martial art; after you've mastered one, you have the option to learn another.

Then again, a miracle like this isn't going to happen xD

And it's the piano, of course. I think it does a good job of conveying general human emotions--better than any other instrument. It's just my personal preference though.

Tough choice, but probably guitar. I'd just love to be able to fool around on one in spare time and play something I found neat. :D

To the one you said bagpipes earlier

HELLZ YEAH!

A split between either guitar and violin myself. Guitar can pull off a lot of genres and sounds that I like, but violin just has that certain elegeance and impact that is absolutely beautiful

Hell yeah bagpipes!! They're horrible if a beginner's playing them, but omg those things are like the heavenly instrument of war if you can play them right.

Me, I'd go Violin all the way. I love all string instruments, and I really do like the Cello, buuut for some reason, I'm really attracted to the Violin. It's funny, because I think .hack sorta started me on REALLY liking them... liked them before, but not as much.

Played trumpet just before and during high school. I'd probably want to improve on my skills in that, just because the trumpet has such versatility and range.

The ocarina, I bought one thinking I'd learn to play but gave up quickly. Getting the power to play one perfectly is kinda what I needed from the start.

Ocarina... of Time.

Or if controlling the weather/time is too overboard, probably the guitar.

It would definitely be piano. Rachamninov is the name.

But really, I hear a lot of people have mastered several instruments but that appears to be absurd. If you're not a virtuoso than you have still a long way to go. To be able to play an instrument and to have mastered one is not the same!

For example you have mastered piano if you can play this. opus clavicembalisticum:
