I've watched a couple of episodes but found the blonde girl kinda annoying. Is it worth watching even so?

Only one worth reading is Honey and Clover.

But I guess Sketchbook ~Full Colours~, GA: Geijutsuka Art Class and Hidamari Sketch would be okay. Not my cup of tea, but they're about art students!

Natsu no Zenjitsu: Pretty addictive Seinen about an Art Student who falls in love with an older woman.

Mars: Kinda... heroine is an artist.

Gokinjo Montogari: This one is really good.

Paradise Kiss: It's the Semi Sequel, to Gokinjo, but it's not really about art so much anymore, but if you liked Gokinjo, you pretty much have to read/watch it because it's like equally if not more awesome.

It doesn't think, it doesn't feel, it doesn't laugh or cry..... All it does from dusk till dawn is make the soldiers die.

Two short mangas:

Shoujo Nemu
Momonchi

both are about students who want to become artists and both cover up a little romance.

I watched the first two-ish episodes and hated it... and then read the manga some months later and loved it

I like Mars... the main character paints. But it's more drama/romance than comedy for sure.

Nodame Cantabile is hands down the best in this genre. It's about two musical artists starting off into college and going further. Really damn good

NANA :)
I'm currently reading the manga (haven't seen the anime) but it has romance, drama, comedy, interesting life-like lovable characters, and the art-students + musicians ;)

I am also looking for anime about art or artists and I am currently watching or have watched most of the series provided here, what I am really looking for is something more concrete in the artist spectrum.
GA does a fair job of discussing how some art tools are used throughout the series, but in my opinion didn't go into enough detail. Sketchbook shows us how to draw, but it have one specific art style.
Basically, what I'm looking for is an "art" anime that actually utilizes art and gives unique perspective, and if possible information/art history lessons. I know something like this is possible if it doesn't already exist in the world, but I haven't found it yet.

But I think, if Hikari no Go can teach us to play Go, then someone can make a series that inspires one to learn more about art.

Gallery Fake. Anime based on a manga.
It is a brilliant mystery series that revolves around the art world. The main is a genius artist, art historian, and art restorer. Each episode contains a painless art history lesson wrapped in a mystery to be solved, a touch of comedy and a light romance. Somewhat episodic in nature (mystery of the week), continuity is provided by the progression of the romance and other recurring character relationships.

If you like it, follow it up with Master Keaton. Keaton is a brilliant but mild mannered man with a background in archeology, art, antiques and commando training. He solves mysteries for major insurance companies like Lloyds of London.
-animeS - The plural of anime is anime. More than one deer is still deer. There is no damn "s".
-epic |ˈepik| noun•a work portraying heroic deeds/adventures covering an long period of time - adjective • heroic/grand in scale or character

The sleepy residents of birdcage manor. An amazing manga, completed, the art is beautiful, romance involved. The setting isn't a school though... But there's a lot of art involved, and it's pretty realistic (if you are an artist, you won't hate it as the rest of the bull.hit stuff :))
Also I second Paradise Kiss and Bakuman. Paradise kiss is about fashion design, but it has perfect air of artistic world ^^ And Bakuman is more like a sport anime :D But captivating and highly motivating.
