I put some of them through an AI detection and it was like 90% certain for the three I tried.

But it's a bit of a shame because I thought they looked quite nice, it didn't even occur to me that it might be AI, but looking at it now it seems pretty obvious.
@uselessDM those ai checkers aren't very reliable. But yes this is ai I am 100% sure

The one I used seems to be pretty good from what I've tested it with, so I'm relatively confident in it. But yeah, it's just an indicator at the end of the day.

Yeah, it's AI. What a shame, I was enjoying the story, but when I get to these scenes, I get pretty disappointed. I'm not gonna keep watching, not even gonna add this to my dropped ones cause I don't want to remember ever watching this thing.

Based on this shot in episode 2, it confirmed that at least some of the shared shots is not fully generated, but partially assisted/filter.

For a show where the main character lies to his master about being a robot, having those AI moments is too funny. I don't care, really, as long as they don't allow something very noticeable (like a hand with 6 fingers).

I’d argue this is far better than having long pauses to fill time or so many "PowerPoint" moments like some series... **cough**TBATE**cough**. At least it does look good.

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

It's not bad. I like these kinds of still frames, anime from more than 30 years ago already had something similar (but man-made of course). The only issues are some imperfections especially regarding hands and joints, but this actually proves that the real problem is HOW humans use AI and not just the act of using it (I mean that a better use of AI could have fixed these issues).

People have to realize that this is a very low budget adaptation: if the studio had decided against using AI, it's not like a top tier key animator would have done that job instead.

Lmao I loved the show. Those random dramatic AI shots were kinda fun too. They didn’t detract from my experience at all. I’ve never been one to blindly jump on the AI hate train, so stuff like this doesn’t faze me. What matters most to me is whether I’m enjoying the series and its visuals. Personally speaking, the AI shots looked just fine and even added some cool flair to the scenes. I’ll definitely be tuning in next week for the latest episode!

*In before people call me names for having fun watching a show that they believe everyone MUST hate*

@Nirinbo I think it's pretty wild of you to assume the majority of people objecting to the AI aren't doing it out of principle, rather than any consideration of the quality of the final result, or what the alternatives would have been.

@Tsunderaygun They're objecting only out of principle you say? Having seen quite a few lower budget adaptations, yes there are those which look bad even without the use of AI, but there are also those which can look great if the humans behind it know how to manage the budget while achieving good quality shots by using techniques that will compliment what they have rather than try and imitate what bigger budget projects are doing, and that is something AI can't do, so yes, there is the consideration that without resorting to AI it would've had a good chance of looking much better

@Tsunderaygun the consideration of the quality of the final result makes all the difference in the world: people fear AI because they expect that it will mean overall worse animation quality, but that every studio will adopt because it will be significantly cheaper and faster (just like the shift from cel to digital animation).

Then of course I know that some people will hate AI out of principle even if it were to produce objectively better results than anything human-made, but that would be like a painter specialized in portraits complaining because photography stole his job.

@masakiosotosh8er I just think people are being ridiculous over a few still shots that quite frankly look good. I mean the latest episode only had one. People are acting like the whole damn show was created by AI.

It's a good anime, but it's just so distracting when there are obvious artifacts, like the damn thumb ring vanishing and reappearing.

@diegontijo I've been wondering why, was there backlash on its use or maybe too expensive to use? I have no idea why they just stopped, not that I'm complaining

It's 100% AI for the simple reason of this— overly complex and detailed.

If you look at other shows and their "detail" shots, they're pretty simple, it's usually just thin lineart and a limited palette of watercolor, and maybe a little bit of hatching for shading. Meanwhile these images have too many colors, too much detail, too many lines, and just reek of a default model.

And then think about the budget of the show itself. It looks cheap and generic, but they poured money and time into... detail shots on screen for a few seconds? Yeah... ok bro.

I just don't even see the point at all. It's not like any of these detail shots are adding anything to the show. It actually just cheapens it, because I know it's AI slop.

A freelance illustrator running from studio to studio hiding that they use AI to """enhance""" their artwork. Post #54 shows the original and Post #1 at the bottom is the """enhancement""" https://files.catbox.moe/o7902k.png .
Same illustrator did stills for Hikari no Ou II which were also AI """enhanced""".

The original is done by the studio while the AI still is presented as a redraw.

Some of you will eat literal shit or baby fetuses if it tastes good enough. Because the end result is all that matters right? The whole "eff you I got mine" attitude. Who cares about the people who slaved over chump wages for 60 hour work weeks to entertain me a for a couple hours, so long as I don't think about it it's all good! I'll worry about it when it comes for MY job. But who am I to stop you. We can only control ourselves. Enjoy the the slide down this slope.
