| This episode hits hard, especially on a personal level for me, Subaru's past, because this episode comes to me just this year when I'm moving away from being the most outstanding student in my school to being a student who goes unnoticed. You know, I'm very good at choosing anime and the exact moment to watch them. |

Watching Subaru finally confront that truth feels like watching a knot loosen after being pulled too tight for years. This is Re:Zero at its most mature. It understands that healing is not triumphant, not clean, and certainly not painless. It is quiet. It is ugly.
