I basically started watching Your Forma, and it's not actually a bad show so far, but that was basically 2 months ago at this point, and I don't remember almost anything, because I ended up doing other stuff, such as played a few rather long games, read a couple manwhas, etc.

How do I finish that?

If you aren't willing to rewatch it and refresh your memory, maybe it can be safely dropped.

If you're asking questions like this, it means you're not really interested in this anime and can just skip it.

I hope I helped. xD

I used to rewatch stuff I paused for a long time but I'm not doing it anymore. Just continue watching gives most of the time somehow enough context to finish it. I prefer to watch those leftover anime episodes when having a warm meal. For some reason it helps me finishing shows when I have this daily routine.

@Tendou-kun It's subbed though. It's annoying to read and eat at the same time.

I have this problem sometimes when I wait a decade before continuing, but not remembering anything after only two months would have me seriously worried.

Currently I have an anime ongoing that I started in April of 2024 and haven't really continued watching since then, but I still remember the gist of the three episodes or so I watched.
There's another anime I am currently watching that I started back in 2020 and even that wasn't a problem.

If you don't do any brain training, maybe you should start now.

As to answer your question, you can just continue if you feel like it. Even if you forgot everything it will either come back or not matter that much anyway. Recently watched a followup season where I watched the previous season about twelve years ago and barely remembered anything. Wasn't a problem.

@JaniSIr
Just do it while eating something easy to eat, like a sandwich or something.

Then think whether or not it's worth watching it and start from the very beginning.

I "dropped" Watashi no Oshi wa Akuyaku Reijou for almost an entire year... and then just continued and finished it (Granted, I didn't need to rewatch anything since I still remembered it):
16/10/2023: Episodes 1-3
23/10/2023: Episode 4
01/11/2023: Episode 5
06/11/2023: Episode 6
14/11/2023: Episode 7
20/01/2024: Episodes 8-9
17/10/2024: Episodes 10-11
18/10/2024: Episode 12

As you can see, I also had a two month pause... followed by a nine month one (The reason I had to finished episode 18 the other day was because there was a blackout here, I already had episodes 10-11 downloaded, but not 12). This was mostly due to WataOshi's second arc being fairly weak, and I'm hearing bad things about arc three, but turns out that arc three was pretty good.

You just pick up where you left off. A lot of details will slowly come back to you. Maybe go to wikipedia and read episode summaries up until where you're at.

@Tendou-kun I hate that feeling of not being able to remember an anime's early episodes. The context you usually miss/or feel like you potentially missed happens to dampen a show in my case.

This happens a lot and not just with anime but with games, manga, VNs and so on and I find that the best thing to do is to just continue where you last stopped and even if you're sitting there not understanding anything for a while you'll eventually start remembering and then the things you just watched start making sense again once you've found the context of the story, and at that point it will be like you never took a break from it at all

That recently happens to me with Seitokai no Ichizon which I started watching at almost a year ago (28th August) and never come watching it again until a week ago when I suddenly gain a motivation to watched it again. Fortunately the anime doesn't really required any context from the previous episode for me to understand what's going on (since it's a comedy anime), but if the anime is story driven or something I'll probably rewatch some previous episodes to refresh my memory.

Rewatch your finished episodes at 4x or 8x speed.

I do mental work 40 hours a week.
But hyper focusing on something else can be pretty off putting, even if it was just the day before, and not 2 months, 2 games and 3 manhwas later.

Well you simply plan your watchings with precise timing.

I do that all the time. I'm doing it right now. It's been several weeks since I last touched an anime, but I'll be able to jump in with little to no issue. One of my only good traits is I have pretty good memory with certain things. For better or for worse.

The only thing I can think of is going back to the last couple of episodes as a refresher. It's the only time where I think as long as you can keep up with what's happening, it'd make sense to increase the speed while watching. That or maybe see if you can find episode recaps.

Just start from the beginning and skip the episodes you remember.

"I basically started watching Your Forma, and it's not actually a bad show"

1. Actually it has some issues from a sci-fi perspective...that makes it a bad show in my book, because this title here tries to look serious and it's not one of those goofy sci-fis for which you don't care when they don't fallow rules and consistency.
2. Stared quite boring. I doubt it gets interesting further.

@alshu The biggest issue is actually that I feel like they skipped a few scenes from the source material, and now the anime is a bit disjointed sometimes.

@JaniSIr
The fans of the source have crowded the discussion forum to complain about that...but even in that context:
1. Sometimes I don't mind jumping into the deep without introduction, tho this thing here doesn't compel me to search for answers.
2. I guess it's supposed to be cynerpunk retrofuturism and those are hard to do properly...an no such ambition in Your Forma.
