this issue has just started today. When I try to press a button on the web version of this, it doesn’t respond. I had to use the phone app to even write this.

Does this happen in incognito mode? It's usually caused by a dodgy extension.

Where we able to click on the source part before and have it take us to that type?
Example - Source: Web manga
I click on it but it just jumps to a different spot on the page.

Desktop, Edge - also tried on firefox

So other websites in Google Chrome are ok then- you could try a new browser and access MAL there. This can help narrow down the cause immensely.

Since you can't click links here, (1) Google for Opera, or Opera GX, or Firefox, or even Waterfox in your Chrome browser and install (2) access MAL in those sites. Don't log into your accounts there immediately.

If the problem persists, it's probably not just a Chrome issue maybe some ap installed (happened before) or weird regional issue (happened before). If the other browser lets you use links on MAL, the problem is probably isolated to Chrome and most likely an extension causing it (happened many times before).

______

Sometimes icognito doesn't disable bad extensions so it's best to just try other fresh new browsers and see if the issue is isolated to Chrome then you can narrow down if there's a bad extension.

Just to add to Shishio above, it could be something breaking because you haven't updated Chrome in a long time. Eventually, certain features stop being supported, although I think the MAL layout hasn't changed for so long that that shouldn't be a problem. I think.

@CC This is possible. There are some cases where not updating Chrome disabled interactive features. Maybe the reason is the javascript for buttons needs to be up to date or something. I haven't made a website on my own in 16 years but I remember they needed that. I think we had similar issues with the fonts recently.

I wouldn't even know how to stop a browser from updating or how to force it to update again, so I would just export bookmarks, uninstall Chrome, and get the newest version.

@Shishio-kun Yeah, on another website I frequent there were some users posting in support because their 2022 copy of Chrome wasn't working there anymore, but I think that's purely a mobile issue since desktop Chrome automatically updates on restart.

Possibly a bad extension in your Chrome, then?

You can disable and delete them here

chrome://extensions/

tbh delete them all and check MAL

@cvbnm07 Not ironic.
It's usually caused by a dodgy extension.

Hope you can find the one that is causing issues and disable it.

@cvbnm07 Can confirm - I just had this issue since last night, and I only had to remove my cookie extension
