Mutsumi's dilemma still continues. At this point, we don't even know what or who is even the real Mutsumi.
I would like to say that Uika will be the last boss.

The Mutsumi reveal is crazy, does that mean she really is just a hollow doll and whichever personality has a higher desire then takes over? Guitar for Mutsumi and Ave Mujica(?) for Mortis... would it be possible for another personality to surface?

Still, I want them all to co-exist as one "Wakaba Mutsumi", each as their own person being able to do what they want...

Umiri × Nyamu scene was cute but Umiri manipulating Mortis for her own goal, that's kinda baaaaaad (Mortis copies Raana? can she do it?)

Ms. Uika what you think about all of this

(also been thinking what Soyo did with the lights picture and it seems like she uploaded it in the CRYCHIC account, and Uika saw it lol)

Not gonna lie I had mixed feelings about this episode.

At least we know that Mortis still wants Ave Mujica and I don't want to think that she's gone for now. Instead of reconciling, the situation between the two of them just got more heated, and until now she wants Ave Mujica back so that she won't disappear. I felt sorry for Saki at that moment.

Also besides that, Umiri finally returned with her screen time this time. It's true that she wanted Ave Mujica back and now she's trying to turn the situation around. Slowly Umiri is starting to be shown how her nature and personality are up close, and I think I quite like her after seeing her up close. Even so, we have to see again for what important roles she will play in the future.

I love this episode; so much get revealed and the Umiri's spotlight too. I always expected her to be a great character. This girl finally get the chance to stood up.

Only Mutsumi is the one that did not have a monologue during the Haruhikage performance so she is the only one stucked there. Saki is trying to move on but now because she feels so responsible on what happened to Mutsumi, that now it became an obstacle for her further progress.

Mutsumi inherited her mother's acting skills. She is so good that her mother feels miserable being around her. She even calls her a monster, a real genius indeed.

At 3 years old Mutsumi was already acting different personalities that will best fit the situation.

Such a cool character development it made me like Mutsumi more.

Sad for Umiri being regarded as untrustworthy. Even back from season 1 I always enjoy seeing her on screen. She is always speaking in a serious tone it is funny and cool at the same time.

You know someone is truly messed up when even the mom admits that her daughter is messed up. Funny seeing Umiri treating soda like it's alcohol, for better or worse. Now we know her reason for being jealous. And damn right you don't have money for the rest of the month, you blew it all on Yves Saint Laurent and other branded shit for goodness' sake.

Also, we got the duality of eyes closeup in the span of one episode.

A looot to digest here.

Minami and Nyamu's conversation about the true nature of Mutsumi intercut with Mortis telling the same thing to Sakiko was haunting. It shows that even Mutsumi's own mother is intimidated by her, and it reveals her true ruthless character.

Also Umiri. This was definitely her episode. For being the straight man for a long time, it's kind of wild seeing her be the primary source of humor for this episode from the impulse buying to her more varied expressions. We also got to know about her backstory about why being in a band means so much to her and why she's made it a point to join multiple bands at once!

Her initiative to reunite AveMuji starting with training Mortis on how to play the guitar seems like an omen for things to come given the rather shady way she whispers into Mortis ear and the ominous narration delivered by Uika at the end.

Speaking of which, I think we all REALLY need to know what's gonna happen to Uika given all that's happened and is to come. It certainly doesn't look very pleasant...

No clue how Mutsumi's problem will be solved. Ideally Mortis and Mutsumi would be at peace with each other. I'm not impressed with the "Mortis dying scene", in particular it's not explained at all why she would die. Mori Minami (Mutsumi's mother) is beyond saving though. I wish they'd try to develop the family drama a bit better, but someone in charge is clearly incompetent.

Somehow Sakiko's problems are okay now? Do they really have time to work on it?

Umiri gave her band members a "you pay the bills". Can't tell what kind of character they're going for. I still don't understand why she wants Ave Mujica to get back together.

Who is Uika again? We have barely seen her in 3 episodes. The lead vocal disappears for 3 episodes. WOW.

So Mortis is one of Mutsumi's roles and in this role she doesn't know how to play guitar. However the role Mutsumi-chan knows how to play. Why does Mortis have to play in band and not Mutsumi-chan?

@Myetx Well as Mortis says, she will die if Mitsumi-chan no longer needs her. At this point, it should be accepted that both Mortis and Mitsumi-chan are somewhat separate characters that can have different endings. Mortis can die if the "correct" persona becomes dominant so I'm guessing that AveMujica is angling for the case that neither are "correct" persona and they need each other. Mortis for her social skills and Mitsumi-chan for her guitar playing skills and also being someone who is caring even if she can't show it well. Finally Mortis, the doll is part of AveMujica not Mitsumi-chan so they are also going for that justification.

@six20 Thank you, this kind of make sense. I remember the part that Mortis said she will die.
But her mother said that Mutsumi is natural born actress so I thought she could switch between roles at will and she could use Mortis when needed.
Also I don't see a long time solution for Mutsumi's multiple personalities unless she will settle on one 'correct' persona.
You are right though, it does seem that for this season the 'correct' persona is Mortis playing guitar.

@Myetx Fair point on Mitsumi's mom comments. They hold weight but is she up to date? While Mitsumi as a kid may have swaped personas like a person swapping clothes but I believe Mitsumi-chan's persona settled in during her CRYCHIC days. The issue is that Mortis also completely developed during AveMujica. Ultimately, her mom I believe is correct, but her info is out of date since she wasn't really around during CRYCHIC or AveMujica. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

@KeepCalmAndMal Minami is in complete denial of Mutsumi's mental condition. As a parent, it's hard for her to admit that her parental neglect (that she and her husband later pretended to be some kind of hip parenting) has caused their daughter to fail to form a stable identity.

After watching this episode I'm shocked, the Mutsumi I have came to know was a lie all along. But that doesn't change anything as my fav from all these girls is still Mutsumi.

But it's crazy how talented she really is, at an age of 3, well that was when here mother noticed. Who know if she was like this since birth.

Guess they'll finally revive Ave Mujica once again and this episode laid the ground work for that.

Umiri is funny.

And well i think its time to admit: Ave Mujica is not as perfect as it seemed at first.

It was already noticeable in previous episode, but anime definetely went in the wrong direction.
There is too much Mutsumi, while the band has very interesting characters who are have too little screen time.
This episode proved it: Umiri is strange and funny, Nyamu is always interesting and cute. But there are too few of them.
I dont argue, that theme of Mutsumi's split personality was interesting at first, but you cant waste half season on it.

And what happened to Saki?
Why did she suddenly become cheerful? After all the band still broke up. Where is her passion for music?
And what is this obsession with Mutsumi. A couple of episodes ago Saki had to be dragged to Mutsumi by force. What a sudden change in the character's behavior.

And i miss gothic vibes. The series seems to be drowned in teenage drama and soap opera.

I hope next episode will be more of other girls and not just Mutsumi arguing with her personalities again.

@x_scolopendra_x The whole reason Sakiko had to be dragged there is because she was afraid to face what she did and felt like her being their would only make things worst. Last episode proved that she was wrong for avoiding everyone both CRYCHIC before this and now Mutsumi. As for not being heart broken about Mujica. Mujica was a toxic rebound relationship.

The closest any of the 11 characters get to being rational are the Youtube makeup influencer and Anon! They are all a pile of insecurities and questionable cooping mechanisms. I fully believe they have reasons for their actions that make sense in their heads, but it can take a bit of work to figure it.

There is definitely a case to be made that Mortis is the main character and not Sakiko.
